雪河山度假村(Snowriver Mountain Resort)

The final trip of the year for the Rib Mountain Ski Club was to Snowriver Mountain Resort, formerly Big Snow. The individual hills are now named Jackson Creek(Indianhead) and Black River Basin(BlackJack). The name change was brought on by Charles Skiier, owner or Lutsen and Granite Peak. As usual, upper peninsula snow is always great and like coming home. Skinner has made changes to the lodge and on tap for 2023-24 a high speed six pac at Jackson Creek. Can’t wait to see what the future brings to these historic ski hills.

My husband and I visited Snow River as a possible wedding venue for our son’s wedding next Fall. We were impressed with the beautiful property and amazing scenery. The wedding coordinator was very cordial and professional. She led the tour of the property and explained the wedding and lodging options available. All of our questions were answered and she explained the accommodations that could be made to fit our needs. Our son and his fiancée were excited to choose Snow River as their dream wedding venue. We look forward to celebrating at stunning Snow River in October 2024.

Up on the hill. Construction site around. Takes a walk to have a good view. No other amenities. Room was spacious and renovated well.

Negatives: Rooms didn't get cleaned during our stay, no dresser, no closet, no hooks no table, nowhere to put clothes or luggage; no shelves or ledges on anything the shower to put shampoo bottle or soap on, no extra hooks to dry towels, water form the shower gets all over the bathroom floor, water takes 20 minutes to warm up; no air conditioning; 1 box fan in the room but no outlet to plug it into unless i unplug the fridge or tv or lamp... absolutely no available outlets int he room, 2 USB ports in a clock was all there was. 1 outlet in the bathroom, which was connected to the light switch, so I could plug the fan in in the bathroom, but to run it overnight I had to leave the washroom light onto power the fan. Window opened but had no screen so opening it let in mosquitoes. Toilet paper roll was behind where your shoulders are when you sit on the toilet. You seriously need to hire a designer. Common areas were dark and unfinished, obviously under construction - lots of mud and dirt. Positive: Rooms were quiet Staff was very friendly

Resort is under construction. Our room was fine, but most of the facilities at the resort were not available. Could be a nice place in a few years.

Entire property is under a massive renovation project. Limited staff, services. Clean and neat rooms.

We stayed at your resort 7/7/23. The room was ok, could use an update. My frustrations are with the inabilty to figure out where to go for checkin. Better signage with clear directions would be helpful. Then to find out the building we were told to go for our room was being renovated and workers were there when we got there. Extension cords on the stairway we needed to use. They did stop work so we could have a quiet night. Slept well until 7:15am when the workers were back. We drove down to check out only to find no one there. I and another guest found someone in the kitchen who called someone who told him to have us leave the keys at the desk. We both did. Not at any time was I ever notified of construction going on. I received a phone call indicating that the ******* reservation was not working so she cancelled it and made a reservation over the phone with me. That reservation cost us $5 more. I will check my account to be sure I am not double billed. Thank you for letting me share my account of our stay.

This was our familys first time skiing and snowboarding. Broken hot tub, fireplace was not in use in main lodge because its not up to code, no night time skiing, food service stops at 4, main restaurant was closed, skiing is done at 4, chair lift broke down, 1.5 hour wait in line to get equipment, Ski lift operator was extremely rude and told my daughter that if she didnt know how to get on lift she shouldnt be skiing, it was her first time ever getting on one! We had fun skiing and snowboarding but would never come back here. Its crazy expensive ( order of fries is $10 as an example) the staff we encountered were so rude and just not friendly. The bar at the bottom of the hill was charming and had wonderful bartenders, excellent hot chocolate and bloody marys and my daughter said her hamburger at the sky bar was amazing.

Love the sitting area by the fireplace. There restaurant and bar were not open, good thing we had our own food. The lobby does have a microwave to warm things up and the front desk offered to get us silverware if we needed it. That was cool.
