河濱小屋酒店(Riverside Lodge Hotel)

Our stay was amazing the room was lovely and cosy. The house wine we bought was awful and I missed black pudding at breakfast (normal Scottish fair) would thoroughly recommend staying again.

Hotel reception and bar area, including lounge and sofa area are lovely and comfortable with a nice ambience. Floors are stunning. Breakfast tables were slow in getting cleared on 1st morning, but could have been a rush before we went in. We have to clear our own. This morning, we were taken to our table. Nice friendly staff clearing tables. Some of the sockets and swiches in bedroom are units are tired and only 2 coathangers. Very small details. Housekeeping was very good.

It was our second stay at Riverside Lodge. Tte staff are always friendly and helpful. The breakfast was always plentiful and fresh with a good selection. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was good quality and very tasty. Cocktails at the bar were priced on the high side and in our option, not the best. They were quite watery and tasteless.

This was a very enjoyable stay, although the shower did not work, but someone came to sort out the issue. Once I got back to my room that day I had some gift jewelry (to give to friends) from my suitcase. I have checked and rechecked my suitcase, but definitely missing. Very disappointed. ☹️

Lighting in room was poor. Desk is provided but does not have a light. Main light switch operates all ceiling lights when you should have separate switches. One side of the bed does not have a bedside light or even a bedside table! Bath was very narrow. Otherwise room was spacious, clean with a pleasant outlook.

Overall happy with our stay. However, We spent most of our stay actually in the hotel as we were here for a funeral and the “tea” was at the hotel. The criticism is that staff were very slow to clear away. When we arrived at the hotel from the cemetery we had to wait quite a bit for the sandwiches etc. the sandwiches looked as if they’d literally been thrown on a dinner plate. Eventually some more arrived on a tea plate! Again they looked as if they’d been thrown on the plate! There were only 4 tables in this room which was lovely but the wait and the presentation was bad. We still had no hot drinks. Which we were all desperate for. I have to say it’s the first time I’ve ever had full size sausage rolls out on the cake stand. Presentation! Overall very disappointing. Again those sandwiches could have been thrown on that plate by an 8 year old! Not a 4star hotel. After we went to the bar lounge we ordered some hot food. The plates and leftovers were never cleared away whilst we were there. Again it was just disappointing. The reception/bar areas are so lovely but to not keep on top of the clearing of plates was bad. Again at breakfast staff were slow to clear used plates! Our cereal bowls were never taken from our table during our breakfast! The whole experience here was certainly not impressive and very disappointing.

Excellent size rooms and really good front desk service, the only fault we could find was a rather large amount of dust behind all the furniture in the room. But i would go back again as the staff and resturant facility exceeded our expectation.

If you have mobility issues be aware that there is no elevator to the second floor and the hallways are very long. Also no air conditioning which was an issue during the heat wave. Staff in restaurant clearly overwhelmed Food adequate
