阿馬拉礁度假村(Amara Cay Resort)

Stayed here many times (7) in recent years but as often happens under new ownership, standards and value go down. Not the place it was. The check in staff are totally disinterested in customer service, sheets/ bedding had tears and holes in them. We needed a room with a convertible sofa bed and were told we had to make up the bed ourselves as housekeeping wouldn’t do it! Strange but true, so after waiting over two hours for staff to bring sheets and pillows we made up the bed and went out to dinner. Standards are certainly going down in this establishment and in fact the only thing going up is the ‘resort’ fee currently standing at $40 per night. Absolutely ridiculous charge for what is on offer. Certainly not worth the room rates so avoid! In case the hotel quibble about my comment regarding the bedding I will attach a couple of photos.

Ameracay is a very nice resort. It's not too far and easily accessible. It gas a nice tiki brand beach as well as a very nice courtyard with game areas and firepits. The resort is in an area that has iguanas. These are harmless if left alone. Make sure yiu balcony door is shut so a curious iguana does not visit. You also should ve aware that in case of a cold snap, iguanas fall from trees. As long as they don't hit you in the head again they are harmless. Visited the outside bar fi a sandwich. Everything in the Keys cost more so prices are moderate. We shared a sandwich with no issues. The lobby area is very nice with suspended swinging chairs. Decorations are "islandish" which is appropriate. There is a selfie wall which has keys mounted. There is also a wall mounted magnetic Scrapple game. There are nice restaurants within walking distance. Both Midway and Lazy Boys were busy. If you go out for dinner, expect moderate wait. Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. The resort has a very snLl gift shop. Not much for men unless you need a bathing suit. The only problem was the entire area was having water issues. There was no hot water in the room. I would stay again. It's about half the cost of staying in Key West. There are places very close by if you want to plY in, on, or under the water. It may be possible to book a ride out to Alligator Reef Lighthouse via a service near by. Lots of places to hop on a fishing boat. The water off Islamadora is a nationally protected coral reef. Make sure you know what you can and can't do on the reef. The resort does not allow drone flying on property. You might be able to fly from a nearby bridge. I will probably visit again.

It was my husband's birthday and we came for only1 night stay to celebrate his birthday. The room offered to us was very small, had no balcony whereas in the website it says all the guest rooms have balcony, it was never mentioned to us while booking that our room has no balcony, I asked them twice on check-in and they said yes, but was given a small room, later at night i realized that our room had no balcony. also which hotel starts testing fire alarm from 9 am in the morning, especially guests coming for 1 night, could have informed earlier, our full trip was messed up. we had to wake up early and check out because the noise was very very loud. I will never recommend this property to anyone.

Beautiful view from room, shuttle service was convenient, Q was great at the front desk. However the gelato bars that were NOT labeled with a price and were $25.00 for two and charged to our room were not worth it. Rooms need some updates. Our bathroom door needed to be replaced due to major water damage. Property was beautiful inside and out.

We didnt get to spend a lot of time here as we were out doing stuff but the beds were good the view from the balcony was amazing, the room was clean and great sized. Had 0 issues and will book again and hopefully spend more time here as what we seen was amazing!

Amara Cay is a great resort, my stay was great and the free shuttle that runs within the area was a major plus. The property could use some upgrades in the building, so I gave that 4/5. The amenities are great but the hotel itself is alright- not bad but not excellent.

Great hotel, second time staying there. Very nice pool area with tiki bar. This year we brought our small boat down, used the ramp, rented a slip. The ramp is tight, so needs to be a pretty small boat, ours is a 17’ Whaler and worked perfectly.

Let me start off by saying I typically don’t leave reviews, but I wanted to warn other travelers about this property. This has to be the absolute worst “four-star“ hotel I’ve ever stayed in in my life —the room was dingy and moldy, all the outdoor furniture by the pool, the chairs and umbrellas were completely trashed and falling apart. The staff did not monitor people playing their own loud music competing with the pools music. This place was awful. The only redeeming quality is the pool bar food was decent. Honest feedback. We will not be back. Ever!!!
