歐拉賽旅館(Orasay Inn)

We stayed for two nights in order to explore a bit of North and South Uist. The Orasay Inn is in a very quiet spot in a remote landscape, so definitely no external noise issues! It’s about 45 minutes from the Berneray ferry and the same from the Eriskay ferry. The room was basic but fully functional and the hotel is pet-friendly. The real strength is in the food. Breakfast was superb (try the eggs royale or the smoked haddock). The equally good evening meal menu was extensive, was prepared using local ingredients and at very reasonable cost.

We were made to feel welcome and home from home by perfect hosts Isobel and Alan. Our room was well equipped, larger than average and spotlessly clean. The added bonus of a bar and a restaurant just made our stay more the enjoyable. Good food, especially the shellfish soup. So glad that we chose the Orisay Inn as our base for exploring the islands.

Always a lovely welcome here from Isobel & Alan. Great central location for heading out to work or, for the lucky ones, exploring Uist. Rooms are comfortable & (important for February) warm. The food is always excellent & there are fabulous views from the dining room.

We ordered a takeaway meal for each of us, as meals eaten on the premises were only available to residents. The seafood medley that we all had was superb, seemingly all made with local seafood. You had to pre-order, and pick up you takeaway by 6.30pm at the latest, which we did.

Wonderful inn, Isobel and Alan are very friendly hosts. Spacy room with great view on the landscape. Fantastic food, the hosts are very willing make adaptations if needed. We felt so welcome and relaxed in this place.

We just had one night in this remote Inn - in South Uist. Comfortable bed. High quality homely food. Really tasty breakfast with fantastic views over the surrounding countryside. Perhaps it helped that we had bright sunshine which cannot be guaranteed in the Outer Hebdrides ! Isobel and Alan were gracious hosts and we very much enjoyed our evening and breakfast in their company.

Had a good night's stopover whilst riding Hebridean Way. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Food was very good and freshly presented. Both evening meal and breakfast. Rooms certainly adequate if perhaps a little tired.

we enjoyed our one night stay and in truth a second night would have been great because we could've had a second delicious dinner. this place is slightly off the beaten track which makes it perfect. we hope Calmac get the ferry debacle sorted as places like the Orasay Inn and their guests rely on the ferries.

The website says hotel and restaurant but the restaurant is for residents only. Went out of our way for lunch but disappointed. Should be clear that this is the case and the website and the sign from the main road should be updated.
