吉達香格里拉酒店(Shangri-La Jeddah)

A hotel is more than a nice building and comfortable rooms , its about feeling welcomed and taken care of . In this luxury establishment the staff are not trained in hospitality at all . Their pool is not attended by staff. The staff charges for things we didn't use such as laundry and breakfast for young kids (even though they told us the kids are free of charge) . Even though , I tired to air my frustration to the manager , nothing is resolved . Above the awful stay , when we checked out , the. staff didn't even ask the standard " how was your stay?" What shame

The amenities in this hotel are top notch . However , the service there is not deserving to a 2 star hotel . Our stay in the hotel was disastrous in so many levels . It started when we checked in after 3PM to find out that my booking request of having all the rooms in one floor is not met (even though it was confirmed by the guest services). So to accommodate our request , we were forced to upgrade to room that is 50% more expensive then my original booking . Over that , we had to wait 3 hours for the rooms to be ready even though we came after the check-in time . When I aired my frustration to the manager , he wanted to make it up for us by making the breakfast on the hotel free of charge. When we went for the breakfast the next day , we were charged for breakfast fully !! The horror show continued in many occasions including : - While at the pool , I was there for two hours , no staff was present to serve us any water , food or towels . we had to leave the pool just because we were dehidrated - The other time we were in the pool with the kids , we were locked out in the pool for twenty minutes trying to get inside the building . The staff forgot to keep the door open . - The TV in all rooms were scrambled in middle of an important match my kids were looking forward to - The laundry service delivered clothes that was not for us even though we didn't have any of our clothes washed and insisted that this is our laundry . Worst hospitality experience , never again

While i was much looking forward to stay at the hotel with my family . We had our experience ruined before setting foot in our rooms . While my original booking asked to be in the same floor for 3 rooms in which two are connected (for the kids) . As soon as we arrived and asked about the arrangement we asked for and was confirmed with the guest services the day of our booking , we were surprised that that won’t be possible . Instead of trying to accommodate our needs with the same rates we booked with , they Forcibly upgraded us to a higher tier room and charged us the difference of the upgrade which amounted to more then 10,000 SAR !!! The real slap in the face was when I tried to air my frustration to the manager about this ludicrous forced upgrade due to guest services incompetence. The manager who promised to find a way to resolve this , his answer was a 12 piece box of chocolate and a letter . The manager then told us that the breakfast will be on the house . When me and the family went to breakfast the next day , we were surprised that we had to pay full . over that , when I was in the pool , I stayed there for two hours and NO STAFF was there to ask if I needed water or anything to drink. I. had to leave the pool because I was dehydrated and no one was serving us

كانت تجربة رائعة والغرف والسويت كانت جميلة وواسعة ومطلها كان خلاب و مبهر ( مُطل عل البحر) ،، ولكن هناك عيب واحد فقط و هو تأخر في إحضار الطعام الى الغرفة ( room service) ولكن اغلب التجربة كانت جميلة واعيد تجربتي للسكن مرة اخرى فيه ،،،و كانوا الموظفين في الاستقبال و الـ staff كانوا متعاونين معنا ،،، شكراً لكم shangri-la على حسن الاستقبال ،،،

When you have untrained staff "but super friendly to be fair". No orange juice as they ran out of it. No bred, jam nor butter when ordering food unless you ask for it. Pay for valet service “which is a very cheap move especially when you have no issues in parking spaces”. No delivery allowed. Double pre-authorization & not acknowledging but denying. You can't call yourself a luxury hotel if you miss those basics! I think one star is enough regarding what service you provide.

This is a stunning hotel. Perfectly located on the corniche. Walking distance to everything you need! Fantastic pool, beautiful health and wellness Centre! Staff all super helpful with a special shout-out to my concierge friends Shahad and Papalolo ! Beyond helpful. I look forward to my next stay!

Service is very good, staff are super friendly & helpful especially Miss Afnan as i had some issues & she handled them professionally, food is ok, property is nice. I gave a three stars because when you stay in luxury hotels you expect services to be at a certain level, such properties should pay attention to some details, being a hotel guest & paying for valet services is a very cheap move to be honest especially when you do not have any issues when it comes to parking spaces, plus not allowing out side delivery! Going down every time i have delivery isn’t something makes me happy. I understand that this isn’t “Shangri-La’s” policy but it doesn’t matter as you should manage your own property.

Not a 5 star service ...overpriced for what you get

Amazing hotel with a particularly attentive and sophisticated staff. Well done to the HR team. The buffet is exquisite et and delightful. The decor processes a lot of finesse. A special thank you to Dennis, the bell boy who was more than helpful. This is what we can exceeding guest expectation. Please reward him.
