皇冠大酒店(Hotel de Kroon)

Niet alle reviews waren positief. Om die reden was ik een beetje sceptisch maar ik moet zeggen: we zijn super tevreden over ons verblijf in Hotel De Kroon. Leuke kamers voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt. Na de gezellige drukte van het Guesthouse kom je in het hotel terecht in een oase van rust, zodat je goed uitgeslapen aan een dagje Efteling kan beginnen. Onze kleinkinderen vonden vooral het slapen in de “schuif” de max. Zeker een aanrader. Ook het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Ik ben echt supertevreden! Ik ben alleen en heb een mega kamer gekregen (kamer 15). Het is heel erg netjes! Schoon, groot, voorzien van alle basisbehoeften. Badkamer is prachtig. Wat is Kaatsheuvel leuk en wat is het goed geregeld allemaal, het grenst aan een grote AH, snackbar en trefpunt van meerdere b&b's/hotels bij elkaar. Je kunt hier dan lekker ontbijten, dineren of wat anders. Het is echt relaxed hier. De locatie is oud maar dat hindert niet. Ik hoop tot de volgende keer(en dan weer deze kamer svp haha)

Great location very close to the efteling, 15 minute drive from tilburg. The room was quite large but a bit dated, not all maintenance has been done properly. A communal area with coffee machine would be great as not to go to the hotel across the street for that. Note that check in is also at the other hotel across the street. Room was a little cold as it just had a tiny heater.

We zijn er nu 2x geweest om te overnachten na een bezoek aan de efteling, en kom er zeker nog eens! Kamer was schoon, bedden liggen goed, badkamer is prima. De kamer ziet er modern uit, (4 persoons kamer) Ontbijt is ook helemaal prima. Paar minuten lopen naar de efteling, de supermarkt er vlak naast is ook handig.

POSITIVES: * Great location. You can walk out the door of the hotel and be walking into Efteling 11 minutes later. * Comfortable bed. * Spotlessly clean. * You can get a free breakfast if you don't need your room made up. NEGATIVES: * No restaurant or reception staff in this building; you had to walk down the block to another hotel for any services. Not a big deal, but kind of a pain on a rainy Dutch day when you've been walking around a theme park all day. * No fridges in the room. The website says that reception can put things in their fridge for you -- but as mentioned above, that means walking down the block to get your stuff. * No kettle in the room, forcing you to walk down the block and then pay 2 euros for coffee or tea in the other building's lobby if you want it. * Charmless, dorm-like building. * Hotel restaurant was fine but a little overpriced for the quality * No fruits or vegetables at the breakfast. * The pillows had been through the laundry too many times and were falling apart. I appreciate that they keep the pillows clean but it's time to replace them. THINGS THAT ARE PROBABLY FINE FOR A DUTCH PERSON BUT BOTHERED ME * The bed is the tallest I've seen in a hotel and had an awkwardly placed wooden rim. I still have a bruise on my calf from all the times I banged my leg trying to climb in. That said, although I am above average height for an Englishman, I am below average height for a Dutchman. Perhaps this was a good bed height for their tall Dutch clientele. * The hotel restaurant refused to give me tap water, forcing me to buy bottled water if I wanted something to drink. I gather this is not uncommon in Dutch restaurants but I was gobsmacked; I've never been refused a glass of water in a restaurant anywhere else in the world. * The hotel restaurant takes various Dutch bankcards but not Visa or Mastercard. Even paying in cash was a bit of a process because they don't have a cash register on hand. OVERALL Given the price and proximity to Efteling, I'd still consider it for a future stay, but if I can find a hotel with better amenities, I'd be willing to pay a little more per night.

Situado a 10 minutos del parque de atracciones de Efteling. Nos alejamos en una habitación con terraza exterior y eso es un punto a favor. Nos sirvió para poder desayunar al día siguiente. Era una habitación situada en planta baja. Quizá un poco pequeña pero bastante limpia y con bastante concienciación ecologica. Te regalaban un desayuno si comentabas que no te limpiaran la habitacion al día siguiente. Nos alojamos dos noches. Desayuno bastante normal y personal muy amable

I stayed for a total of 3 days in Hotel De Kroon, a friend of mine for one night. We booked 2 single rooms, but both of them had some problems. First the positive: The location is great and the staff is really friendly. Efteling is just a few minutes away and a supermarket is right next door. The rooms weren't really dirty, and a tv is included. The interior is nice as well. But there was a lot of bad stuff which shouldn't be there at that price point. The biggest problem was the oldness of the rooms. Some light fixtures were coming off, a chair was broken and not safe to sit on, and in one of the rooms, the light bulb and glass shelf of the mirror were missing. The worst thing about the oldness is the lack of air conditioning. Yes, we had the hottest days of the whole year, but the rooms and even the floors got warmed up so fast, that there wasn't any chance of cooling the room itself down. There was a ceiling fan, which helped partly, but it was a bit noisy and wasn't centred over the bed, it was centred in the room, so I had a few sleepless nights. The supermarket next door saved my stay with cold drinks and vegetables, but I bought a bar of chocolate in the evening and it turned itself into chocolate milk overnight. I know that air conditioning is expensive and not eco-friendly, but at least include a mini fridge in the room, which can be plugged off if it is not in use. Space for it is there, and it wouldn't be that expensive. Another annoying thing is that the beds are on rolls without breaks. The single room includes two, which were moving independently from each other. In a bigger room, this would make sense. But in this small room, it was only annoying. Mattresses were moving around, the beds themselves got separated so it was uncomfortable moving between the two sides, and items fell between the beds. One single bed would be enough, and there would be the added benefit of some more space in the room! I've definitely seen worse hotels, but for this price, I expect a bit more. Unless they renovate the place, include a fridge, or lower the prices I won't come back to this hotel if I stay alone. I don't know anything about the quality of the other rooms, especially the newer ones, but I can't recommend the single ones at all. I would rather look for a cheaper hotel and travel by bus.

Great budget hotel close to the Efteling. Clean and renovated rooms. We did not use the added breakfast which you get in the hotel next door but instead went to get some things in the Albert Heijn which is next door.

Na een dagje Efteling gingen we naar dit hotel. Het blijft vreemd dat je in moet checken bij een ander hotel 50 meter verderop. Maar ok. Kamer is schoon echter wel outdated. Badkamer is (te) klein. Nu zijn wij niet groot maar we moesten ons wel in alle bochten wringen om naar de wc te kunnen gaan en douchen. Doucheputje was redelijk verstopt dat je met t douchen bijna tot je enkels in t water staat. Kamer zou voorzien zijn, vlgs de beschrijving van 2 tv’s! Nu hing er in de hoek een klein scherm ter grootte van een pc beeldscherm. Als je op bed zou liggen kon je t halve scherm niet eens zien. Maar goed tv aanzetten. Afstandsbediening deed het niet. Bleek er geen batterijen in te zitten. Na gebeld te hebben met receptie kwam al snel iemand met een andere AB, helaas was die niet geschikt voor deze tv, bij de t****e keer werkte het wel. Helaas hadden we buren die niet zoveel rekening hielden met andere gasten en zelfs half 3 s nachts nog uitgebreid gingen douchen. Het is erg gehorig dus slapen ging hierdoor niet. Na een dagje Efteling is het verblijf wel lekker maar voor ruim €130 mag je best meer verwachten. Matrassen op de normale bedden zijn aan vervanging toe!! Verder vriendelijke en behulpzame medewerkers!
