約克酒店卡爾古利(York Hotel Kalgoorlie)

Decided on a drink on the balcony of this beautiful old hotel. Ordered dinner. What can I say it was just plain awful. I had a pasta dish which came swimming in a chilly sauce....no lie, it was like the 'chef' had just tipped a bottle of sauce over the whole dish. It was so bad that I couldn't eat it so my hubby swapped his meal. He can eat anything but he couldn't manage this! I tried his Pork Belly. Crispy crackling very good but the rest was woeful. Undercooked pork & carrots so hard I couldn't even cut them with my knife. When the lovely waiter asked how our meals were, I had to be honest & tell him. We were given a complimentary drink. Got taking to some locals who told us that this place can be hit & miss with food. Two chefs. One of which is not so good! Would not eat here again. Sorry.

We stayed in one of the front rooms for 1 night and our friends stayed in the adjoining family rooms. Very comfortable, clean, nice white sheets, great value for money. Would highly recommend. Especially if you are an architectural buff, beautiful grand staircase, lots of plaster moulding, stunning! Have had meals here before which have been good but this time the pub was closed as it was Anzac Day.
