I have backpacked widely in many countries and am content with basic, no frills rooms hence I picked this place as a one night stop before doing a walk on the Lycian way. However there is a difference between basic and substandard. I checked in and checked out again within an hour. I couldn’t sleep there. There was a disgusting strong smell of chemical cleaner in the room which made me feel sick even with the windows fully open. It was masking the smell of drains, mould and cigarette smoke. A fan was permanently running in the bathroom for same reason. The photos are cleverly done and do not truly show the type of place it is. The rooms are effectively like old chalets, kind of like the style of room of Butlins in the 1960s. Nothing wrong with that except the building and gardens are very badly maintained and in my opinion it needs pulling down. The floor moved a few inches when I walked on it. The bar was full of boozing Brits. I think it it is really sad that this kind of trashy, disrespectful tourism has seeped its way to a village adopted by UNESCO as a World Friendship and Peace Village and on the beautiful Lycian Way. I told reception I had to check out because of the chemical smell was making me sick. She showed me another room – it was the same. She said she was sorry but was not prepared to refund the cost of the room. I went to Orino Suites down the road. Not much more money and a beautiful, peaceful place with a friendly Turkish owner
