Nicely located, private parking in the back. Esso Station across the street. Good breakfast.

Myself and 5 friends on a cycling trip stayed here. Just the job for a stop over after a long day in the saddle. Food was great in the evening and very reasonably priced, Full English super, especially the black pudding!. Accommodation quite basic but ideal for our needs. Service was good, owners very chatty & friendly, what’s not to like. They provided overnight secure bike storage which was a bonus.

Called in for some to eat, on a Saturday afternoon and wish we hadn’t bothered. Ordered a chilli burger and a cheese burger, the chilli on the burger made that one better, the cheese burger was rubbish, didn’t eat it, the chips were undercooked. How you can get burger and chips wrong I don’t know!!

staff were all friendly and helpful. Lovely breaksfast. Nice clean, comfortable room and facilities.

This hotel is really missing a trick because with a few small tweaks, it could be quite quaint. It is a very old building but the furnishings both inside the room and in the pub are shabby to say the least. The en-suite bathroom is adequate and was clean but the mattress had lumpy springs and a little bit uncomfortable. Our room had no window in the bedroom, only in the bathroom but because it was on a main road, I was grateful for the noise reduction by the absence of a bedroom window. However, the bed faces a blank wall, no mirror, picture or anything in anyway decorative which would have cheered the room up significantly. A mirror in the bedroom would have been very helpful as once the shower was used, the bathroom mirror was too steamed up to use. The breakfast was quite good and the staff were friendly and accommodating. With just a few decor tweaks, this could be a more cheerful place to stay in. The price included breakfast though and free parking which is a bonus.

Obviously not showing its 300 year age, but a little worn around the edges. great local, lovely breakfast and evening meal. Owners personable and helpful and so good to see that they are so busy. Keep up the good work!

The staff and management here are so helpful and friendly. Even donated towards our charity event. Overwhelmed by the generosity. Lovely meal cooked for us after a long drive. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had to contact the hotel in advance because we had a delay in our arrival. They were splendid: helpful, friendly and understanding. We were only there two days to help our family to relocate but we couldn't fault the service, the breakfast or the staff. Super.
