皇家橡樹酒店(Royal Oak Hotel)

We had a wonderful night here on our Cumbrian Way walk. Everything was perfect - the warm welcome, the lovely room in particular the full length bath after the days walk in inclement weather, the food and the service throughout. Particular mention must go to Rozina, our lovely host, warm, professional and funny besides - a real asset to this excellent hotel.

Incredible hotel with AMAZING staff (Rezina is beyond wonderful) who are so welcoming, they really make the place extra special. The chef .... outstanding! This was our third stay, we have stayed in a double and a deluxe room, both were immaculately presented and very comfortable. We will definitely be back ....

As soon as we entered the hotel reception door we know we were going to have a relaxing time, welcomed with complimentary drinks and scones. Our room was modern, spacious and to a high standard of cleanliness which was maintained throughout our stay by house-keeping. The hotel isn't open to non-residents so you get a homely comfortable feel were you get to know the staff on a first name basis, credit must go to Ryan and Rossini who worked above and beyond for all the guests, and made a fuss of our greyhounds. Fabulous walks on the doorstep and then returning to excellent food, fine dinning which will be hard to beat at such competitive prices, cheaper to stay at the hotel then eat in Keswick We will definitely be back.

Jason and his team have got it just right. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed but everything runs smoothly. The food in the restaurant is lovely and the service is great. Little touches like the complimentary tea and coffee (and afternoon scones) make all the difference. We visited with our dog and she was made very welcome too. It is a hotel that knows its clientele and offers them exactly what they want.

The picturesque drive to the Royal Oak is wonderful. On arrival we were very warmly welcomed by the staff. The double room was decorated beautifully also great bathroom with an excellent shower. Large enough for us and two medium size dogs. The staff made us really comfortable in the restaurant with our dogs. The food was amazing. Great service. If you’re looking for somewhere to go on a hiking holiday or just walking you dogs don’t look anywhere else they have thought of everything packed lunches, a drying room for wet clothes. It’s quite peaceful and beautiful.

We would highly recommend The Royal Oak Hotel, the staff are friendly and genuinely lovely folk. Management is efficient and nothing is a problem. The food is exceptional and on every occasion has not disappointed. Rooms are great, modern, stylish and clean. Thank you to all of the staff! You are a great team !🌟💫

Our family of 8 stayed at the Royal Oak while walking the Coast to Coast path. We were welcomed warmly by Ann and enjoyed complimentary tea and coffee while we rested up and waited for dinner. Our dinner was the best of our entire walk. We enjoyed the 3 course menu. Our Greek waitress interacted with the kids and helped make our meal a fun experience. Four of us stayed in a bunk room with private bath on the hall and the other four stayed in 2 connecting rooms sharing a bath (family room). All beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were updated. Everything was immaculately clean. We walked for 6 nights on the Coast to Coast and all voted Royal Oak as our favorite accommodation and meal. In hindsight we wish we would have booked 2 nights there.

This a beautiful hotel. Located in the picturesque Borrowdale valley it is easily reached by bus from Keswick. The rooms are immaculately well kept, clean and tasteful throughout. The bedrooms have USB charger points on the sockets so you don't need to bring adaptors. There is no TV, but there are some lovely lounge areas where you can sit and discuss the day's events with fellow residents. Additionally, it is also a superb restaurant. The "set menu" dinner might seem a little off-putting at first, but there is something for everyone and the quality of the food is fantastic. The same high standards apply to the breakfast too.

This is truly the worst hotel I ever booked! Frankly, it should not be allowed to be called a hotel. They charged a ridiculous 132,50 pounds per night. What we got was a 25m2 room without any place to hang up clothes, get rid of suitcases etc. They filled the room and tiny bathroom with mostly cheap plastic ikea stuff. Basic amenities are missing. We had two terrible nights because of the noise from the pub downstairs. I had to remind the owner to make our room, or at least give us some new towels. The tv did not work properly, no remote control was available. When wanting to check out, nobody was there, so we just dropped the key on the counter.... there is no real reception desk. All I can advice anybody who wants real value for their money and a pleasant stay in Keswick: do not go there.
