芬威克酒店(The Fenwick Hotel)

Lovely overnight stay to catch up with family who live in the area. The friendly staff made this a memorable stay as they went out their way to accommodate us and they were so friendly. On realising that we had someone in a wheelchair the receptionist immediately changed our booking to a ground floor room. Much appreciated thank you ! We enjoyed a nice dinner and there was a decent choice from the buffet breakfast. It was nice relaxing in the bar with a drink in the evening too.

The Fenwick Hotel hosted my mums 70th birthday on the 30th March and they did great job! We had a slight delay with a couple of the guests arriving late but the manager Kelly was very accommodating and made a stressful half hour much easier. Throughout the afternoon the staff were present but we didn't feel rushed in any way. Would definitely feel comfortable booking an event here again. Big thanks to Kelly and her staff. Camilla Minnis

This was a fantastic visit to this hotel for my daughters wedding. The staff were great they even joined in with some of the kids playing, a great atmosphere. Food was perfection on a plate , and hot plates were a great bonus. A two night stay was well worth it. All the staff we met were happy, courteous, and willing to help in any way they could. The weather could have been better, but to be fair, they can't do anything about that. An absolute fantastic day for all who attended the wedding . Thank you to the Fenwick Hotel *****.

We went for a meal with family. Service rotten, bar service worse. The meal was awful too. Soup was 1/2 of a ladle. Steak pie was dry and the pastry was solid. The sweet had a frozen strawberry topping it. This used to be a great hotel with great service. The last twice we have been very poor.

Beautiful bedroom , contempory decor, excellent wet room. The hotel was spotless Food was excellent. We would defo istay again if we wanted accommation on the west side of Scotland. All staff are friendly and attentative. Renee and Bruce Elliott

We had a private supper within the hotel and I need to highlight the superb quality food that we were served throughout the evening, every single plate was superb. Staff were extremely attentive, led by the new general manager Kelly, who is really making great improvements to the hotel. We have seen a great improvement since Kelly has taken over. Will be back very soon

Hotel looked lovely on arrival, the main hotel is well decorated and modern. We were greeted at reception and given keys. We were told we would receive a glass of wine at arrival but this not happen. The room was a strange layout, what looked like a large comfortable bed was two single beds pushed together and a random table and dressing table which didn’t really fit in the room. The bath was dirty and covered in mould around the seal. The room was roasting hot and unfortunately opening the windows was not an option due to the motor way being right beside the hotel. At dinner we were given a set menu rather than a generic main menu which was disappointing as I was looking forward to the valentines meals they had advertised. My meals were fine but my partner did not receive what he ordered. He ordered Cajun chicken but it most definitely wasn’t as seen on the menu and he did not enjoy it. It left him questioning what he had ordered. Breakfast was ok, was a small buffet style breakfast but being vegetarian there wasn’t much on offer for myself and my poached eggs and toast both arrived cold. My partner however enjoyed his breakfast. In the morning it was extremely noisy with what sounded like moving of furniture across the floor and general banging, it sounded as though it was coming from upstairs and possibly cleaners… so if we had chosen to sleep in till check out at 11am this would not have been possible.

Plenty of free parking and very easy to get too! My interactions with staff were excellent rooms spacious and clean as well as comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and plenty to choose from excellent stay. I didn’t have an evening meal but the restaurant was open.

Booked a 1 night away on a deal through my hotel breaks . We can’t complain for the price we paid however I would like to give a review based on our experience. Arrival and check in was quick, given room keys. Room was a decent size decor was nice, minor touch ups required - seal around the bath was black and iron burn on the carpet. Room was very warm even with the heating turned down to 1. Pillows were quite small and very soft (not the most comfortable) Motorway noise didn’t bother us. Small friendly bar with quite a few option of drinks and prices relatively cheap. Main meal - was given a menu for the set meal, starters we had pakora and haggis croquette with turnip and whiskey sauce. Both very nice. Main we chose the balmoral chicken (chicken breast stuffed with haggis wrapped in bacon with mash and whiskey sauce ). What arrived was slightly different, it was mashed potatoes with 2 sliced chicken breasts(over cooked and hard ) and a lump of haggis in batter with veg and whiskey sauce. Not quite what was advertised on the menu although still edible. The other main was Cajun chicken with coconut rice, Nan bread and Cajun sauce - what arrived was the same 2 small slices chicken breasts with a side of pilu rice , vegetables (courgette carrots) half a nan and a mild creamy yellow sauce (not Cajun tasting) again it was edible but again different from what was on the menu. Would have preferred the staff to have told us that the menu wasn’t the same as advertised and left us little disappointed as the expectations wasn’t the same aa reality. We had a couple of drinks in the car after dinner - all was good then headed up to our room. We had the wine that was given to us complement and decided at 10.45 that we would like a few cocktails so my other half popped down to the bar to find it closed and in darkness. I assumed the bar would close at midnight as most bars in hotels and restaurants close at 11.30-12.00pm (maybe a wee sign to let customers know). Breakfast was buffet style and throughly enjoyed it. Lots of options and fruit juices. Overall the stay was okay and would say value for money however the meal didn’t live up to our expectations but definitely not the worst we have had.
