Staff were lovely and very helpful. Changing room for swimming pool is very small and has no secure locker. It needs to get updated

Stayed 1 night en route to and from Scotland to northern ireland.convenient stopping point. Spacious family room was fine for 2 adults and 2 small kids. Staff friendly and helpful . Tasty evening meal and breakfast. Handy for excellent park to let kids run off stream after car journey. Also made use of the pool. Pool is small which would be fine but for fact it's busy with non hotel residents( who did rather make us feel we were inconveniencing them by being there! ) Would certainly stay again if making the same trip

Check in wasn’t great as I had phoned in advance to double check that my elderly parents had a twin room, only to find that when we arrived it was a double. This however was rectified. Food in the dining room was good, and service was mostly pleasant. Unfortunately there was a very noisy wedding which kept us awake. Pillows also were thin and hard. I did ask if there were any different pillows but nothing was done. This sadly was not the Fairfield House we remembered.

Breakfast and restaurant service was great. Unfortunately I was given the room on the end of the car park that didn't feel part of the hotel. It felt a little grubby and a little shabby and not really up to 4-star hotel standard. The bed linen was not changed once during my 4 day stay and the room cleaning was very rudimentary. Hotel appears to be under staffed, which is not unusual in the post-covid era.

We stayed at Fairfield for 1 night after checking out from The Carlton, we were given directions of where our room was, i certainly would not use this room for an executive suite. Yes the room was very spacious out of date,when you look out of the filthy window you see a wall covered in ivy. Yes i fully understand the RAD company have just bought over. I can't wait to see what they do with the decor when it's time for a makeover.Other than that everything else was lovely.

Helpful and friendly young woman on reception. Room was clean. But… the hotel is in serious need of an upgrade, my bed was very uncomfortable and the pool area was quite depressing.

I was travelling for work and stayed one night in Fairfield Hotel. When I arrived in the evening at 6.30pm I couldn't get any food, because they couldn't fit me in the already half empty restaurant. I was given a room outside, in an annex in the carpark attached to the swimming pool and the fitness suite. I was uncomfortable and surprised to be sent outside away from the building on my own, this wasn’t noted in the room booking and, as a women on my own, I felt extremely vulnerable sleeping beside an external door to the dark carpark and away from the building in winter. There was a phone, but I didn't have the number to reception in the room. The room was clean. There was no drinking water and there were paper disposable cups rather than reusable cups for making tea. Cars started arriving to park right outside the room from 6.30am so I could not get much sleep nestled between the noise of cars, car doors slamming, and noise from the gym/pool which the room/annex was attached. The staff were all extremely nice and friendly, but I was utterly exhausted for my next day and I would not recommend this hotel from my stay. I contacted management but they did not respond.

Our stay was ok but on arrival the receptionist looked up from her chair and said “ Are you ok?” I said I was and asked her if she was ok and she responded positively. There then followed a lengthy uncomfortable silence which I broke by asking if she might help me ? She harrumphed. I asked if I might check in and she said “No” as checkin was 3pm (it was 1 pm). I then left and returned to my car. I waited 10 minutes and returned to the same receptions in the same, seated position. I said that I had just driven nonstop from Surrey for the previous 7 hours and that her “welcome” was not what I expected as the usual welcome was “can I help you?” I then asked if perhaps she might confirm she had a booking for my wife and I and that it was an executive room. Only then did she ask for my name and she advised that the booking was confirmed. I then asked if I could bring in our luggage and perhaps wait in the bar. She confirmed it was ok. 15 minutes later she sent a message to me in the bar that our room was now available. What was that all about ? Lastly, what is it with almost every staff member using the word “youse”? Would youse like a drink ? Are youse eating with us tonight? Do youse want coffee or tea ? All perfectly pleasant but so grating on the ear.
