比利德文郡紋章酒店(Devonshire Arms at Beeley - Chatsworth)

We had a lovely overnight stay between Christmas and new year. Despite the deluge! It was too wet to really explore the stunning countryside. But the warm log fire and a few beers were a very welcome alternative. Our room was lovely if compact with fresh milk and Chatsworth estate biscuits. It’s popular so even if you’re a resident book for dinner. We wanted something not festive and the food didn’t disappoint. Trout starter was fresh and zingy. Loved the mushroom main course and the chocolate cremeaux was historic. Like proper master chef cooking and beautifully presented. Mind you prices did reflect this. However service was maybe a little underwhelming. Lovely pleasant staff. But all very young with maybe not a lot of experience. There were a couple of drink mishaps and the dishes weren’t really explained to us. There were bells and whistles on the plate but we had to find our own way around. But it was still fab and I’d deffo go back Breakfast equally satisfying with plenty of fresh local produce.

We have eaten at this pub on a few occasions and had a really good experience but this time we were shown to a table in front of the door into the kitchen . The room itself was cold but also a cold breeze coming through the partially open kitchen door . We were also in front of the fireplace , which wasn’t being used . We had to eat our meal with our coats on . Plus our friend was just recovering from an illness, so we rushed through our meal to get back to the warmth of our holiday cottage . There were heaters scattered around the room . But they made no difference at all. Other diners came in and were asking to move tables but to be honest there were no warmer areas . I asked at the bar why the fire wasn’t lit, the reply from a young lad was he didn’t know . I told him we were cold and the fire should be lit to warm the area up , it never happened though. We were very uncomfortable and disappointed as the food wasn’t that warm either. We have a booking to go back in a couple of weeks time . Please let it be warmer in there as I don’t fancy sitting eating my meal in my coat again.

The staff here are wonderful. Extremely friendly and helpful. For example our friends had a problem with charging their electric car and staff went to great lengths to help, even after we accidentally broke a cover on the cover to the electric socket ! The food is excellent and the fires in the bar very welcoming. The location is excellent too, very handy for walking, and with a lovely little brook just outside.

Cold. It was Icelandic and had to get my coat to sit in the bar. Very dark bar area put some money in the meter. Areas to rooms just used as storage and very unsightly. The room! Room 4. Great if you are a house elf. Tiny. Decoration tardy. Not enough sockets. Toiletries not topped up from last guests so not welcoming. We booked and paid £274 for two nights but left after one. That says it all.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Devonshire Arms. Its based in a lovely quiet village. We had a lovely little cottage which is part of the Devonshire with small living room, bedroom and bathroom. The food was fabulous every night and the ambience of the restaurant/pub area is lovely. Big thanks to the chef and team. Also have to say a big thanks to the waiters and waitresses who were so hardworking with still with a friendly smile and helpful whenever asked a question. Also the reception and bar staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you for making our stay a wonderful one. There are also some great walks nearby and Chatsworth and Bakewell are only a few miles up the road

It was unfortunate that we were there after the floods in October. Disappointed to have dinner in the damp feeling bar when the lovely dining room was empty . Why ? Staff were lovely , efficient and a good and reasonable wine list . Great breakfast.

Every dish was layered with stunning flavours and the presentation was exceptional! My partner and I enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and the staff were friendly and welcoming! I can’t recommend them highly enough! We will definitely be returning soon!

Called in on the off chance of a table for lunch. The food was fantastic, one of the best meals we've ever had; fresh good quality ingredients cooked to perfection - real compliments to the chef. All of the staff were friendly, professional and helpful. A real delight to eat in a great atmosphere - well done everyone.

Lovely service but tiny mean portions. I appreciate that times are tight but £8.50 for a spoon falling mackerel pate! 2 small cold slices of toast. The most expensive ham sandwich with a tiny amount of ham and a steak sandwich with less than 100g of steak. Thankfully the friendly staff and service compensated somewhat. It’s a shame because everything tasted great but having cycled 20k or so with our 10yr old we were very hungry!
