We stayed for one night in the Dairy rooms. The room was warm and inviting with a lovely shower room. The bed was comfortable and good facilities. We had the three course dinner and breakfast package. The restaurant is very pleasant being located upstairs in the Dutch barn. Really delicious food with two extra pre menu courses included. The cured trout starter was particularly good. All the dishes were well presented with good attention to detail and excellent fresh ingredients used. The front of house staff were all very friendly and attentive, with good knowledge of the dishes being served and also the wines on the menu. I would recommend. The reception staff were also very friendly and for the whole stay we were made to feel very welcome and were served lovely food. Thank you, we will visit again in the future.

My sister and I ate the most delicious afternoon tea last week - from local knowledge,we knew it would be good, however it surpassed both our expectations. Arrival greeting by Tracey was warmly welcoming, then we followed a lovely waiter- Simon? (apologies if the name is incorrect) upstairs to our table. We had a super view over the house and gardens and then the tea was served. Delicious, fresh and tasty finger sandwiches, followed a warm sausage roll and Asparagus and pea tart - superb pastry for both, then followed by scrumptious warm scones, clotted cream, raspberry jam and then the most joyful of cakes and pastries. I asked for a doggy box, but it was all so beautifully presented I could not resist eating everything. We had blackcurrant macarons,carrot cake, rich chocolate delice and our favourite was the slated caramel croquant choux bun. An interesting selection for your eyes and stomach1 More drinks were offered and our service was professional and friendly - everything you could ask for. We have eaten many Afternoon Teas and believe me, for the price, this really was exceptional. Go and try it if you don't believe me!

One night stay. Very friendly reception when we arrived. We booked luxury room. The room was smaller than anticipated. But bed and linen was lovely and crisp Very warm in the room but there was a fan Lovely 3 course dinner and service was excellent. My asparagus /egg starter could have been cooked more. But everything else was tasty

As a treat, we visited Eckington Manor restaurant for a 3 course meal. I have experienced fine dining on many occasions but this fell short of any previous experiences. The restaurant is dimly lit which isn’t a problem but it lacks atmosphere, feeling cold and more like a canteen. There is no table linen and the napkins are paper, albeit good quality. The restaurant overlooks a car park so nothing nice to look at. The food was very underwhelming, quite bland and the portion size was adequate for a child. With good quality ingredients, even though the portion size was small, I would expect to feel satisfied. We left the restaurant feeling hungry and disappointed. We were offered complimentary tea/coffee but I’m sorry that felt like an empty gesture.

We booked with a Cookery Experience voucher and decided to make a weekend break and booked a 2 nights stay with a tasting menu. Not cheap, but our experience was. Main building looks great from the outside, a planning gem evidently but cold, really cold, soul less like a cheap diner and the restaurant is the same. Food was average, not something to rave about if you eat well and the accommodation was OK but little things, could not watch TV in bed. Away for the weekend, let’s stay in bed on Sunday morning and relax! Whole place openly based on re-investing family money, family run with over worked staff, over hyped and not worth the money

We stayed at Eckington manor recently attending the cooking school in the day with the seven course tasting meal on the evening things started really well we were greeted by extremely friendly staff and made our way upstairs to start our class which I can say was superb and great value for money And this is when our positive experience ended after the class we made our way to our room which was comfortable and clean but very basic and out dated and is not what you would expect for a £200 a night room especially after upgrading I’d hate to see what the basic rooms are like Next we made our way to the bar but only had one drink as the bar was freezing cold being downstairs and by the door with most of the people in there wearing coats We returned later on for a seven course meal in the restaurant which was also freezing cold after us asking to have the heating turned up (other guests also asking) i decided to go back to the room to change into warmer clothes with my partner putting her coat on the food came and was bland and poorly cooked making it impossible to understand how on earth this is a Michelin guide restaurant is baffling in short the food wasn’t inedible just very poor for the price they are charging The final straw came when having breakfast the morning after I had the full breakfast again with my coat on and all I can say is awful and quite possibly the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever had Luke warm coffee and cold egg brought to a close what has been a terrible experience and absolutely not value for money after expressing our disappointment with our waiter and also when checking out we were met with ohh that’s such a shame and it is a shame as we won’t be going back again

Wonderful one night stay. We managed to get an upgrade to a junior suite. Excellent decor, free standing bath, kingsize bed and plenty of room. Dinner was superb and the service second to none. Staff were friendly and helpful, and had a very much "can do" attitude. Not cheap, but well worth the money. Breakfast freshly cooked and the best Full British I've had in ages. Highly recommended.

Following a warm and friendly welcome by the proprietor Judy, we were welcomed into the bar for a pre dinner drink and a chance to peruse the menus. Matt served us our pre dinner drinks and assured us that they would be as flexible as possible re the menus. We had a delicious 3 course Christmas meal, with excellent wines. Couldn’t fault it. Great staff, great food and drink! We will be back!
