Savet Guesthouse

Our driver from Ratanakiri was very helpful to drop us in front of SAVET. I guess the pictures are really old. During our 1 week stay we had a good sleep and goos shower. Only 1 staff speaks English so you better wait for him to arrived. They are friendly eventhough some staff dont speaks English they will try to help you. The location of the guesthouse is just 5-10 minutes walk to the market and nearby restaurant. 5mins walk to the riverfront. If you would like to see Stueng Treng with a motorbike you better work out with Mr. HENG the only guy who rents motorbike here. For us we didnt rent beacuse he was not friendly at all. The staff are friendly, the lobby is full of great wood work. It is clean here and cheap $7.5 a night. During this time we stayed staff could not even help us to find places that we could visit, purely business. After they have our 1 week payment they are not so keen to help... You better plan really well your trip here. They were so surprise seeing "barang". It would be better they have some tour recommendation. Every question they will answer I dont know, please check it there, NO. It was frustrating though...We ask locals beacuse they have a better idea compare to the online, during this time asking google was better to get information. If we havent pay in advance we would stay for only a night in this place. I suggest just pay for a night first to try, if you will like the vibe here... - wifi is good -clean rooms -quiet -good location -price is good

We had an amazing stay at this guest house for 2 night, It is not a hotel but room so big and clean, staff there are very warm welcome and friendly. Location is not far from local market, If you have any questions about tour or good restaurants just ask staff at front desk. Am highly recommend this guest house!!!!

No, its not the Sofitel, but we found it to be very clean, comfortable, well staffed and with a great location for our 2 nights in Stung Treng. We had the "VIP" Room with air conditioning on a front corner. Yes, some flying insects seem to come in under the door at night and die on the floor, but the room was so large that didn't matter. You can get a massage across the street ($5, Khmer style) and I arranged for breakfast at 7am at the restaurant owned by German guy and his wife 2 blocks north of the hotel across from the Samsung store (talk to the wife, not the guy--she does all the cooking and she delivered exactly what we wanted right on time). It is a 5 minute walk to Ponikas Palace for other meals, the market, or the river. Noise not a problem and everyone was very nice and check out the carved tree root in the lobby. You do have to walk up stairs.

Budget guesthouse has clean a/c and fan rooms. Facilities are limited, however, with no fridge or coffee on site. It is a couple of blocks back from the river but there is a local coffee and baguette shop just opposite. No info on tours so check the tourist police office on the water front that can arrange trips and onward travel.
