We have stayed at this property annually for about 20 years. It is on the more expensive side, but the service has always been very good and the location ideal. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but upon check out, I wanted to settle my bill with cash, which I had mentioned at check in. The front desk person on Sun., Aug. 6th at around 9 a.m. said that she couldn’t do that without a manager and followed immediately with, would you like a receipt? Meaning, I charged it to your credit card- end of story. She was unapologetic and did not tell me when a manager would be coming. I said flatly, “You are not a very helpful person,” to which there was no reply. Good service keeps clients coming back and affects your reflections of a trip. This left such a bad taste in my mouth. A simple, “I’m really sorry about that,” would have sufficed. I will reconsider booking this hotel.
