Overpriced.
My wife and I like to go to OC from time to time to enjoy the beach and the nice weather. We usually go to the Pelican Hill Resort. This time, we wanted to change and give it a try. We decided to stay at the Ranch at Laguna Beach.
Terrible mistake.
While the bungalows are outdated from the outside, the inside is okay and small. Nothing spectacular. The view? We could see the other neighbor's bungalow. Nothing exciting. The Ranch at Laguna Beach is big about weddings, so expect to have people partying in their bungalows.
The worst experience we had is the in-room service. OMG. First we didn't get any bottle of water, no welcome package, nothing when we arrived at our room the first day. Before going to sleep, my wife and I started to get thirsty and so we texted their "AI" system to ask for some tea. After a little while, a gentleman knocked at the door and delivered us... coffee! So we asked again for tea and it never came. I had to text again in the morning and FINALLY after 45 minutes someone showed up and gave us 3 tea bags and a bill of $15.
I think the main issue about the Ranch at Laguna Beach is that they pretend to be a place - a fancy one - they're not. An expensive place with okay-ish rooms and poor service.
The only exciting thing about this hotel is this cute little bunny that was hanging around. He was probably lost... :)
In conclusion, between the Pelican and the Bunny, skip the rodent! It's a no brainer.
