The Hotel El Nido Holbox is an absolute gem. Its roughly a 20min. drive by can-am taxi from the Holbox ferry port. The roads are not paved, and that is ok and to be expected on an island. The beaches (playa) are absolutely pristine and also an easy way to walk into town from El Nido. It cannot be overstated how friendly, welcoming and accommodating the hotel staff are. Guests should know this facility operates in a environmentally sustainable way: they have bio-digesting toilets and run power both on solar and on grid. This is a huge benefit to guests, simply as the island's power can sometimes vary and during tropical storms can be off for hours. During our stay, a 2-day storm event disrupted power to the island. The Hotel El Nido was fully operable, was serving fresh, locally sourced dishes, catering to guests' needs and had Wi-Fi. If you are travelling to Holbox, we recommend you do the research before you come. The most important tips are: Bring plenty of cash. Although USD are generally accepted, Pesos are easiest for conversion. The hotel and kitchen are separate businesses and kitchen and bar do not accept credit - Cash only. There are really a handful of cash machines and 1-2 banks on the island with limited hours. The location of the Hotel El Nido is not for guests who want the buzz of the town; it's quiet, and for those who are looking for more peace, to hear the beach, to listen to the birds of the island and occasionally step into town. Average taxi cost one-way is 300-400 pesos. You can also charter a boat to run the the playa into into town and that will likely run 150-200 USD (not recommended). If you are capable of walking and enjoy interacting with the beach, town is an easy 30-minute walk. Be aware of low-mid-high tide time tables to make your walk more enjoyable. In closing, we highly recommend this hotel. Having walked the beach and inspected several of the hospitality properties north of Holbox proper and south of Holbox, this is one of the finest. We already are planning our next visit to El Nido.

C’est un havre de paix. À deux pas de la plage, tout prêt de Playa Punto Cocos. Le lieu est plein de charme, l’accueil chaleureux, le petit déjeuner délicieux ! La piscine est au top. Les échanges avec l’ensemble du personnel sont très agréable.

El hotel es muy tranquilo y acojedor. Todos los detalles están muy cuidados. El servicio es excelente y el personal del hotel nos dio muy buenos consejos. Está un poco alejado del centro, pero se llega fácilmente a pie o en can-am taxi (en nuestro caso tuvimos que usar mucho el taxi porque las calles de la isla estaban inundadas después de un temporal). Cerca del hotel se puede ver el atardecer perfectamente desde Playa Punta Cocos.

La propiedad está de ensueño.. la recomiendo si vas modo tranquilo, paz y relajación. El personal fue muy gentil todos en general pero Carlos, Andrés y Angie (reina) muy buen servicio al cliente .. súper bonito súper limpio y hermoso.. volvería otra vez.

El hotel es bonito, el personal es amable y está cerca de Punta Cocos, pero alejado del centro (aprox 30 minutos caminando). El desayuno es rico (café o té, jugo, yoghurt, pan dulce y huevos o molletes o tosta de aguacate) y suficiente para empezar el día. Hay una jarra de agua en la habitación, lo que me pareció buen detalle. El wifi funciona bien. Sería bueno que tuviera un lugar para poner el equipaje y un espejo de cuerpo completo. En general, fue buena experiencia.

Das El Nido, ein wunderschönes Hotel, mit tollem Interieur, Pool und super schöne große Zimmer/Bäder. Alles sehr sauber und tägliche Zimmerreinigung. Frühstück ist etwas klein, aber dafür inklusive und für uns war es ok :) Es sind zu Fuß etwa 25min ins Zentrum. Wem das zu weit ist, muss per Taxi fahren oder sich ein Fahrrad mieten. Das Hotel hat keine eigenen und auch keine kostenlosen anzubieten. Zum Playa Coco sind es nur 3 Min zu Fuß. Paya Mosquito ist am anderen Ende des Zentrums noch weiter raus. Zui Fuß etwa 1h. Wer die Ruhe sucht und mit ein bisschen Weg um mitten im Geschehen sein fein ist, ist hier sehr richtig.:) Preis-Leistung ist gut. Bisschen mehr Auswahl beim Frühstück und Fahrräder vom Hotel wären sicher noch toll, dann wäre es eine 10/10 Wir würden wieder kommen :D

Es war alles exzellent! Vor allem das Personal ist hier hervorzuheben, welches den Aufenthalt wirklich besonders macht. Sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend und immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen :-) Der einzig winzige Kritikpunkt ist das Fahrrad das ich geliehen habe - es war nicht mehr ganz so gut in Schuss, hat aber seinen Zweck dennoch erfüllt! Ich kann das Hotel jedem und ausnahmslos weiterempfehlen! Danke für die tolle Zeit!
