帕達斯特莊園酒店(Pädaste Manor)

I would see this excellent place as my first time on trying a luxury hotel, that provides almost everything with great satisfactory. It took some time to travel from Tallinn to Muhu, but to be outside of the city is truly refreshing. And I'm extremely grateful for trying such opportunity for summer after discovering Pädaste Manor offering packages on specific times, so I took the chance. The place is like a private resort, beautiful manor with rich history, a superb restaurant with a view to the open space, a large open park in the middle, a garden for the manor and visitors, restored buildings belonging to the complex, the spa and the beach. I've arrived a bit late, but the receptionists were kind and showed me the room, I also got a plan about when will the restaurant be open. I've read that Pädaste manor is trying to achieve to satisfy all six senses for the visitor. While being there, I felt how much my senses were affected by this atmosphere, a complete peace. The Yacht Club, which offers outside dinner only I think, I tried Caesar salat with nice crispy shrimps and a rhubarb soft drink. I haven't asked if they also offer maybe drinks during the nights. There's also a nice road walk at the beach side where I saw a swan family swimming there. Also there was a pond with fishes, so I asked for the opportunity to feed them. I've heard that one of the old building complex was a place for brewing beer. Sadly this was in the past, but it would be nice to try a home made beer one day in Pädaste. And as for the spa, I tried the sauna instead of the massage there. Very interesting way on using honey also in the sauna. And I saw the moonlight reflection on to the pond after doing a quick jump into the cold tub. I would say that Pädaste Manor is like a milieu, timeless in a way. There was many other things that I would have also loved to try there, but that would be in another day, when I visit this lovely place again.

This place truly suprised - oh my god what an effort they have pit in every detail there. with the minimalistic style and authenticity in everything. Elegance with the simplicity One of the best restaurant experiences during last year. I was suprised that Michelin has not visited them yet - they are defeneately worthy of it. Very unique and truly pleasant Spa experience with holistic massage. Truly professional service and fantastic rooms. Perfect interior with historical buildings and nature all around. we had such a good rest there. Owner also playing piano at restaurant was like a cherry on a cake. Defeneately one of the best discoveries and I truly reccommend it for romantic weekend 😉.

Worth every penny. The best of a boutique hotel, a historical property, and a luxurious experience destination (restaurant, spa, etc.). We were wary about booking a room in the carriage house, but they treated us as first class guests throughout our stay.

Diabolical experience. I had made my original booking through Hyatt due to their partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World of which Pädaste Manor is part of. Few days later I received a message from Hyatt that the property doesn't accept Amex and my reservation was canceled I made another one on SLH's own website and then the property claimed that they were not able to pre-authorizate my HSBC card that I have been using the time in the Baltics and my reservation was canceled for the second time. They, however, asked if I would like to make a reservation for a dinner? Doesn't make much sense. I made a third reservation through Tablet Hotels when arriving at the Muhu harnor so that they wouldn't have time to cancel it by the time it took to get to the hotel (10 minutes). Quite frankly, at this point, I would have preferred staying somewhere, because it didn't appear that they would like to have paying guests, but a friend with whom I was traveling with her a reservation. The check in went fine and I was upgraded and provided a fruit plate. My friend received several calls and emails from the hotel trying to get him to make spa and restaurant bookings. I went to breakfast in the morning and only wanted to have whole wheat toast that they didn't have. Also the teapots cover always fell off when pouring some. It felt that the property mainly emoloyes trainees from a hospitality school in Estonia. This hotel is not worth the money even when you consider the uniquely setting due to lack of service and common sense.

Fantastic experience! Staff was the best that I have ever experienced. Unique setting and atmosphere, and a great dining experience.

Padaste is really a special place and definitely worth making a trip to. We had been there before in the summer and early spring, but we really enjoyed our recent autumn long-weekend at the manor. It was the perfect time of year for long walks and bike rides during the day and then heading to the SPA or relaxing in our cozy room with a fireplace. We stayed three nights, but wished we had one more. Padaste really is one of best places in the world to unwind. The place exudes charm and calm. The surrounding area and Muhu is easily explored by foot, bike and car- the front desk was very helpful in this regard. Taking a few hours to drive to and explore Kuressaare is also well worth it if you are at Padaste for more than one night. The town is charming and the ancient fortress impressive. We stayed in a superior Junior Suite in the main manor house. The room is large, but very cozy with its fireplace. The elegant, yet rustic design is lovely and the room is immaculately maintained. We simply loved it. The elegant breakfast in restaurant Alexander was certainly one of the highlights of each day. The setting, food and service were perfect. We also dined at Alexander in the evenings, which is an amazing experience. We will certainly be back again!

Having being here in 2006 and 2011, it was an experience to return. The setting is fabulous, but the service and the amenities haven't been upgraded for the modern-day traveller. The superior double room in the Manor House was large, yet shabby in corners and lacking coffee/tea making facilities and a decent hairdryer. Just to name a few items. The service in the Yacht Club was disastrous. The breakfast was served at the table from 9am and served our needs, but could be considered by others to be rather limited. The restaurant was worth a visit in the evening as the restaurant manager, Bilal, was luckily able to make the experience professional.

Pädaste Manor reminded me Melancholia, a movie by Lars von Trier. Location is quite similar to the old castle where much of the Melancholia´s action takes place: there is a seaside, greenery of a park, historicness of centuries old building and few humans playing their roles under the vast sky. Muhu island (named Moon in Swedish and German) is not a easiest place to reach (unless one utilizes manors private helipad) and getting there requires some determination and at least 3 hours from Tallinn (4 hours from Riga) by car and ferry. Island is sparsely populated (wild boars probably match or outnumber Muhu human residents) and once you have arrived to this quite off the beaten track location it is easy to appreciate what a little bubble of comforts and civilization exists in the middle of green wilderness of woods. All one can do now is to spend it´s time as pleasantly as possible, reflect, relax and wonder. Manor´s room are decorated in slightly different styles depending on the building they are located. I personally liked coziness of my little double room (price paid was 226 euros per night including breakfast and taxes) in the old Carriage House better than more minimalist approach of manor´s main mansion under the roof of which are also located hotel´s restaurant and main check-in. I appreciated lit candles and quiet piano music in the hallways, elegant bouquet of wild flowers on the table of my room, uniqueness of Muhu embroidery on a soft brown blanket that covered the white sofa, luxuriousness of Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom, my private balcony (red flowers, old wood with nobly flaking paint) and view and the wide park view that opened from there. Bed and TV were located on the second level of the room which is especially suitable for those who like to climb stairs — for me personally there was perhaps a bit of less space directly under the roof than I would have preferred. But I have to admit that I much liked falling to sleep there at night when rain started and monotonous drumming of raindrops on the roof was only thing I did hear. By the bedside was also a inviting book about history of Courland and after the turn down service (I believe I had actually declined turn down service, but somehow it happened anyhow) two cookies with pieces of chocolate appeared on the bedside table. Bakery is done in-house at Pädaste and hotel´s unique dark bread with hazelnuts and raisins can be tasted at breakfast, which starts at 9 AM (it may be a tad too late for some guest preferences). I actually did enjoy breakfast (especially a la carte lamb sausages which were beautifully decorated with mustard and watercress), but I think there might be even room for some slight improvements. For example cold breakfast items could be served a la carte as well, based on guests preferences. At the moment they are served as a set: two croissants, two slices of bread, two cookies and about ten bit-sized accompaniments from chicken liver pate and pork neck

This is a perfect example of Small Luxury Hotel quality - serene and with every detail effortlessly addressed. Time apart is what I sought and Padaste provided it with every comfort and with abundant charm. All the more given its remote location, Padaste blew me away with its excellence. The more I realised that I could expect that level of service at every turn, the more I relaxed into the surroundings. The room was delightfully spacious and high ceilinged with lovely touches like local embroidery work, and without distractions ie the tv simply disappears so I didn't have to interact with a screen, even passively. The spa service was exceptional, the grounds were beautiful. I will be back to take in the seaside wood-fired hot-tub with plunge into the sea, borrow a bike and venture beyond the grounds. I did try the natural spring-fed waters tub near the spa, 'twas tough to tear myself away from there. Padaste hotel, staff and grounds - 5 out of 5. Michelin has given Padaste various recognitions and this looks good on Michelin. I'm writing a restaurant review separately because that was an experience apart. Padaste was thoughtfulness topped to the brim. PS - I was given a look at the private farmhouse, that just might be the jewel in the crown, even over the main Manor House's Presidential Suite.
