The room was comfortable, the pillows were like clouds, and the bath was super relaxing. However, the room was slightly tired and there was quite a bit of dust around.
The customer service was the worst part of this trip. I didn't feel welcomed when checking in, the receptionist was not overly professional and for a 5* hotel this is not what I would expect. Unfortunately, the service didn't get any better with my stay and my the end I was beyond disappointed. For almost £400 a night for the room, I would expect a professional and swift customer service. Often the reception desk was empty and I had to wait for assistance for some time, or in some cases I gave up. I had emailed the hotel over a week before attending and I chased the emails without luck and got a reply on the day of check in which was too late for a lot of the items we had queried such as gluten free options on the menu (we dined off site as we didnt have the information provided)
From unattended reception desk, to waiting over 30 minutes for an iron, and more smaller items, it was just bad service and I wouldn't return.
This was my second time staying in the hotel. 1st time was with work and my experience was the polar opposite to this. Maybe this hotel only treats business professionals with respect and speed!
