I spent four nights at The Brewers Inn (BI) in July 2022. We had booked two double rooms via ***********, and the total price was 1158£ + 112,80£ (single dish dinner/drinks on the day of our arrival). See pictures. The short summary is, that the hotel as well as the pub/restaurant is overpriced and worn down. But there are so much more to the story. The promo pictures and online branding doesnt resemble the real state and service level of the BI. The hotel area is very poorly maintained, with dirty carpets and dirty/damaged walls all over the place. See pictures. Due to a lack of ventilation inside our rooms/bathrooms, and a VERY noicy street (window) side, the air inside the rooms quickly got bad. The controlpanel for the seemingly new and wall mounted A/C in the rooms, were not pre-set (and locked) to any prefered function, and there were no manual to help customers manage on their own. The A/C was either constantly blowing freezing cold air into the room, or not operating at all. We tried to cope with the heat of the building, by adjusting the controls to “auto cooling”, “low fan” and testing a range between 20-25 degrees celsius. Still the temperature in the room fluctuated wildly between freezing cold and very warm/damp. See pictures. The lacking cleaning of the rooms was the first and most obvious dissapointment. What seemed to be nice and clean at first glance, didnt take much looking around to reveal the actual poor standard. IE we found large amounts of black human hair all over the floors, some in the towels and even some in the sheets. We are all blonds, so these specific dark hairs couldnt possibly be ours. Other unknown leftovers was also found on the floors/carpets, as well as on some of the surfaces, in the corners and along the floor boards. See pictures. This mess were never dealt with during our stay, though housekeeping made the room two times. Communicating the mess via e-mail to the official BI email, and documenting our request for ekstra cleaning with a few pictures, didnt resolve the situation before we left, and we havnt heard anything from the hotel management. Another big dissapointment, were the very dirty and unhygienic cups, glases and spoons that housekeeping provided in the room for self service. Clearly these glases/cups/spoons was just wiped with what must have been a very dirty cloth. Really disgusting and frankly disturbing post COVID-19. See pictures. We found a moldy scieling in the bathroom as well as partly dirty scieling in one of the rooms. There were a consistant and very moldy/earthy smell in one of the rooms. One pillowcase even showed clear signs of old mold stains. The toilet seat was loose and sliding around, and the water pressure in the showers was just rediculous. See pictures. The included breakfast and morning service was “a first”. Poor upfilling of and very few elements in the “continental buffet”.
