皇獅酒店(The Royal Lion Hotel)

Had a meal in the restaurant, very overpriced, my empty starter plate was left on the table after my main course arrived and stayed there for the duration of the meal! I paid £13.25p for a small vegetarian tart with a bit of watercress garnish descrbed on the menu as a salad, after spending nearly £80 on a meal and a couple of drinks, I asked if it would be possible to have a small cheese and biscuits for dessert as my wife was having a different pudding and I did not want to purchase a sharing cheese plate just for myself, I was told by the manager this was not possible as everything was preportioned, very disappointed and will not be returning again any time soon.

Very disappointing experience. We were in Lyme for the day and stopped in for lunch. We both ordered artichoke on sourdough. The bread was stale, and would have benefitted from being toasted. The topping was very sparse and we felt at over £9 it was vastly overpriced.

My son and I came to stay for one night while we went fossil hunting. We were made to feel so welcome from the minute we arrived. Breakfast was amazing! So close to the beach and shops. We will definitely be back!

booked comfy room due to accessibility but it was so snug we asked to be moved. we were allocated a lovely room on ground floor with outside area. this room had recently been renovated. we wernt offered any help with luggage during our stay. the main restaurant was closed for the three nights we were there so we ate two nights in the bar. food was fairly good. my pork shoulder was all fatty with hardly any meat but my husbands identical meal was fine. breakfast is taken in an upstairs restaurant. food was cooked to order. a good breakfast for a three star hotel. the hotel is in a great location with parking. a two minute walk to the promenade. lots of shops are in the high street which we enjoyed.

Visited for Sunday lunch, awful service, very dirty and the beef was inedible. Didn’t get checked on so would have said something, when we left it was different staff again, as locals we or anymore we know will not be visiting this establishment

Called in for lunch. Had a steak which was tiny and tough. Staff were indifferent and was charged a 10% service fee that given the choice I would not have paid. Service charge never mentioned except at bottom of menu in miniscule writing most people would be unable to read. Generally an underwhelming experience.

Friendly receptionist who took us to our room. The room was spotlessly clean with white duvet cover. Bathroom was good with toiletries needed. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely old fashioned pub. Stopped off for lunch whilst visiting Lyme Regis. Lovely welcome, calm atmosphere. Great menu choices and reasonably priced. Arrived hot and well presented, didn't have to wait too long either. Good vegetarian choices

Hall & Woodhouse hotel and clearly some investment underway as we stayed in a deluxe balcony refurbished room with a lovely seaside feel and some nice touches including Scottish Fine soap products. Lovely sea views from the small furnished balcony, fluffy towels, Robert’s radio, comfy bed and a hospitality tray which was refreshed each day. Warm welcome on arrival and WOW …. we were shown to our room and even offered help with our luggage. The warmth continued thru out our short stay; all the staff we met were kind, friendly and engaging . We only had breakfast but that was taken in a lovely large dining room and a mixture of continental and cooked to order hot breakfasts . Not a huge choice but all tasty and well presented. Indoor pool not the warmest and sauna and jacuzzi out of order but with the hottest ☀️ weekend of the year so far, we headed for the beach.🏖️ Have known this hotel for over 40 years and seen many changes but Hall & Woodhouse have a plan and it’s a good one. Would recommend you try it and what a bonus to be able to park your car in the centre of town . Many thanks all and esp Sharon for managing our booking .
