麥克唐納德度假村(Macdonald Elmers Court Hotel)

Set outside of Lymington, which is a 20 - 30 minute walk away. Large grounds with lawns. Outdoor pool. Children's play area. Tennis courts. Indoor pool in an separate complex that also houses the breakfast room. Both are not in keeping with the charm and style of the older main hotel. We had a bedroom in one of the outside 2-storey more modern self contained units. You have to walk outdoors to access them. Good size room. Comfortable bed. Bathroom with bath and seperate walk in shower. Heating was totally inadequate for the size of bedroom - just a very feeble electric warm air heater with no ability to increase / decrease the setting AND it kept cutting out. Would have frozen on a winter's evening! Food & drinks in the evening hotel was acceptable, but quite expensive. Breakfast in the "spa" building was self service and chaotic. Overall paying 4* prices for a 3* facility.

Laura Head Receptionist was brilliant - she couldn’t have been more helpful. Room was large and no complaints whatsoever. If I had a small negative it was the breakfast, I have had a lot better and to be honest expensive for what it was. ‘Trip’ you could only either have no breakfast or 2 breakfasts. Taking my 100 year old mother who could hardly manage 2 mouthfuls was expensive there was no option for 1 or child’s! But, overall a good hotel.

Everything was fine except catering staff could have been more polite and employees not using the outside pool when off work taking up limited spaces for paying guests

Beautiful location, the building looks lovely along with the grounds, the room was clean and well stocked, sauna was good and pool was lovely. Definitely recommend.

Lovely room and outdoor pool was great.

The room was freezing, the bath didn’t hold water (the plug was broken) and generally it seemed dated and tired. Breakfast was good on the first day but the second day it was a buffet and there was no hot food left. The pool was again tired and everything just seemed a bit old and not cared for. Such a shame as the main hotel is so beautiful but needs some TLC

We had a lovely time. Our initial room wasnt suitable as the bunk beds were too small for my girls but they changed the room for us which was good. The swimming pool was lovely & warm. The breakfast was also good.

Nice hotel, fantastic reception staff. Housekeeping not so good, pillows shabby - until Reception staff sorted it - tea bags and biscuits not refreshed! That having been said, room was clean.

Beautiful surroundings and such lovely staff. Rooms are a bit tired and I don't think, as a lone female traveller, I would stay in the room away from the main building. Next time I will try to say on a higher level near to the main building. All in all a good stay with fabulous staff.
