馬杜賴旅館(The Madurai Residency)

Bien placé proche de la gare des trains, chambre confortables cependant il ***que, bouilloire, frigo et coffre, je ne comprends pas ces ***quements pour un hôtel de cette classe, choisir un chambre à l'arrière moins bruyante avec vue sur le temple, le buffet petit déjeuner est correct pris dans une salle confortable, quelques cafards et moustiques deci-delà, je recom***de tout de même l'établissement.

Cheaters and scammers...thats how I would like to describe them. If you want to pay extra money once you reach there then book this hotel. The hospitality is worst and the people sitting on the reception are rude and dont know how to treat the visitors. They think they have been in this industry for a long time so they can do whatever they want and charge any amount but the service is not at all good. A very bad experience in this hotel...A wish I could give negative grade to it.

Beware of these scammers. Just arrived (9pm) after a long day's travelling to be told my *********** booking was wrong and that I would have to pay an extra Rs1000 (40% higher than quoted), take it or leave it, because *********** were quoting old rates.

Chambre très petite et hyper bruyante, le wifi ne fonctionnait pas. Literie correcte, petit-déjeuner correct. Les parties communes sont plutôt convenable. En hyper centre de Madurai. Le personnel était lourdement insistant pour les pourboires.

Pls check if there are floors with no smoke smell, even if u opt for no smoking rooms. Rooms were extremly smaller than shown & no value for money. Rooms where extremly smaller & not clean. Not value for money. Location is near to temple & Service was good, but its of no use of if rooms were smaller & not clean...

We were in the roof top restaurant for beer and dinner. There was nothing special about this place except the view from the roof top and some cold beer. Food was average and did not justify the prices but then you actually pay for the ambience more than anything else.

Madurai Residency is located 4 minutes by walk from the main train station and a few more minutes from the Meenakshi temple. Staff is competent and helpful. Rooms are clean and modern. There is a restaurant on the roof that serves very good meal. Breakfasts are great. For the price this hotel is hard to beat! Highly recommended.

Currently the property of Madurai Residency is under renovation, so there is noise from 11am to 6pm, this is a discomfort. We booked 2 standard rooms, 1st room had a nice view of Meenakshi temple and the 2nd room was dissapointing - it just had a large wall of another building. Rooms were clean. Breakfast spread was nice with veg south indian and egg buffet and a nice spread of juices and tea/coffee. We had our dinner at the hotel and i must say that you should try their Kerala ****tta and chettinad chicken. Even biryani was good. We had it with lemon soda it was really refreshing. The rooftop dinner with super breeze just made our day!

After trying various other restaurants rated by TripAdvisor and finding them closed, our driver took us here, where we enjoyed a very pleasant good value dinner on the roof top. It's a shame that the restaurant is not discoverable on TripAdvisor as a restaurant in its own right rather than just as a hotel..
