Great staff service and all was very comfortable and quiet. I've stayed here before and was more than happy to book here again

I booked this hotel last minute for my partners belated birthday celebration. We arrived within 10 minutes of booking and let’s just say… we were treated like royalty. The hotel is perfect and this is why: Secure parking Friendly and professional staff who are EXPERIENCED in hospitality Food is gorgeous Room is beautiful with a giant bed Shower is heaven! There is so much to say but NO WORDS can explain how we were treated !! We felt like family. Like old friends. Even tho we were strangers. We CANNOT recommend highly enough and can’t wait to return.

We were a group of ex- Navy veterans returning to the historic dockyard and former naval trading establishment where we had previously served forty years earlier. We chose to stay at the Ship & Trades purely because of its excellent location and were not disappointed. The rooms are excellent, being quiet and well appointed, and the bar and restaurant are pleasantly situated by the picturesque marina. Parking is plentiful and free for residents. We were all delighted with the quality of our evening meals, which were not haut cuisine but beautifully cooked and presented, absolutely delicious and reasonable value. Drinks were similarly of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast was again an excellent mix of choices for both the healthy and enthusiastic foodies in our group. All staff were ”smiley”, helpful and keen to be of assistance.

My husband and I came for 2 nights as part of our joint birthday celebrations, and we felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. Tea with home made cake and scones on arrival in the drawing room set the tone, our room was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, and had stunning views over the Kent countryside. Anna and Richard were very attentive hosts, and gave lots of time to chat with us and other guests, including making useful recommendations of local places to eat and visit during our stay. We especially enjoyed the evening suppers and delicious cooked breakfasts. We will definitely be back again soon.
