惠特利莊園酒店(Whatley Manor)

We stayed one night on a good January special deal. Even before our stay I was impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of the staff and this continued during our stay. Staff are all super lovey and helpful. The main restaurant was closed so the hotel offered a free light supper. This supper was wonderful. Delicious soup, a cheese board, bread and a brownie. We were quite full. Breakfast was also wonderful. W had been upgraded to a large room, room 8. It was huge but heating wasn’t working so we moved to a normal room, room 15. This was still very large and I loved it a lot. Lovely view over here garden, big bed and large bathroom. Rooms have thoughtful touches such as a tea tray and water and cordial. We loved our stay

We went to Whatley Manor (our 16th visit over many years) for the New Years package. We were a bit worried as to how it would go, as the communication prior to the actual event was disjointed and in some cases wrong. However, having said that, from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, on January 2nd, we received the usual warm and friendly Whatley welcome. The event was well planned, with great detail given to the meals, activities, as well as all the little extras. The staff were amazing, everyone was friendly, very efficient, going above and beyond in some cases. For example; we forgot our deodorant, not a big issue, but when we checked with Sue on reception to enquire if they have an in their amenity pack we were told they did not. Next minute we get a call in our room from Sue asking us which we preferred. Several hours later when we returned to our room there in the bathroom was a can. That is what you 6* service. Well done to Micheal the new GM, you have a great team. Ricki Weston, Executive Chef and his team. It is so good that he, along with his team, come into the Lounge to explain the canapés, as well as some of the dishes during dinner. Brining the kitchen to the Dining Room. Nice touch. We also wish to thank; Connor, Liv, Manuel, Oliver, Sebastian, Darren and Matt. Izzy and Sue on Reception, A big thank you to the Housekeeping team, the behind the scene heroes of any hotel. My partner and I had an incredible weekend at Whatley Manor to celebrate my birthday. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. The spa facilities are fantastic - clean, well-maintained and a perfect place to relax on a Saturday afternoon. The rooms are lovely and we were so pleased to be find a bottle of fizz and a birthday cake to celebrate! We ate at the Michelin star restaurant and it was delicious - a particular highlight was that you start your tasting menu in the kitchen to see where the magic happens. The breakfast in the morning was equally delicious and the service again, outstanding. We can’t wait to return! Thank you.

My mom and I stayed for 3 nights in this amazing hotel, and since it was so good, we decided to stay a 4th night as well! This hotel is absolutely wonderful, the attention to detail, the beautiful interior and gardens. Also, the amazing service provided by the wonderful people, we felt really taken care off. I can’t wait to stay there again!

We have been to these events several times over the years . Originally it was a three course lunch and then the film. Now it has changed to the film first and then a three course dinner. The menu for this is not advertised anywhere and so we assumed it would be like before . There were two choices for each course. Neither starter seemed attractive so we ordered one of each . The beetroot goats cheese and pear was mostly beetroot cubes with a tiny bit of cheese and three blobs of pear . Tasted great but just not a lot of it.Main was Wiltshire chicken with a small amount of mash and a small portion of veg. Puddings were fine . So it has changed from a huge Sunday roast with starter and pudding to a meal not even half the size ! Such a shame and as someone else mentioned , served so quickly we had left by 1900 . If it’s to do with rising costs , I would prefer they had put the price up and left it as it was .

We are frequent visitors to Whatley as we live locally and have enjoyed many spa days and a few overnight stays. I have also visited a couple of times for the cinema and dine evenings, the most recent being last night on 24 September. On previous cinema events we had our dinner first where we had the choice from the full menu at Grey’s Brasserie and were made to feel like true guests at the restaurant / hotel, before going to watch the film. Unfortunately yesterdays experience was quite different, with the cinema experience being first and as we took our seats for the film we were asked to pre order from a very short menu, with only two rather uninspiring options for each course, which was pretty disappointing. The film experience was great, and we moved through to Greys at 18.00 for our dinner. The food was fine although as mentioned above the menu was quite simple (roast chicken or a pea risotto to choose from for main). Due to the speed that the kitchen were moving through the courses, we had finished all three courses by 19.00 and were then feeling like we had no choice but to leave and slowly make our way home so not to disturb our parents putting our toddler to bed, as we imagined we wouldn’t be leaving Whatley until 20.00 at the earliest. Having experienced the cinema and dine previously and greatly enjoyed the full experience of sitting down at Greys and picking from the full menu and moving at a nice pace through the meal, compared to yesterday where we felt rushed through and a little short changed by the pared back choice, I’m not sure I would book the cinema and dine experience again, which is a real shame as we love a visit to Whatley as a treat.

Went for dinner at Grey's restaurant and it was a wonderful evening. Warm welcome continued with excellent service throughout. Excellent food and drinks. Our waitress was great, even with only one functioning arm!!!

We had tried to visit twice previously but had to change our bookings due to personal circumstances. The staff were very understanding and we managed to agree on a firm date. From our arrival, the staff were very attentive….particularly helping us navigate the up and down and winding corridors!! Parking of the car upon arrival was helpful, and the little gestures for our celebration were thoughtful. Grey’s restaurant was excellent, with limited, but well balanced choices, and attentive but not over powering staff. Gardens are certainly worth a walk around, and the courtyard and buildings are impressive in their own right. We spent a couple of hours in the spa. An excellent facility, which attracts members, day pass visitors as well as residents. With only 23 rooms, the age and hence maintenance requirements, number of staff, and extensive spa facilities, I really hope that there is extensive non residential use, otherwise I cannot see how the establishment could be viable. Based on our experience it certainly deserves to be well supported.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful countryside Estate. The grounds are gorgeous and the accommodations first rate. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay a good experience for us. We particularly enjoyed walking through the various gardens.
