We went to Whatley Manor (our 16th visit over many years) for the New Years package. We were a bit worried as to how it would go, as the communication prior to the actual event was disjointed and in some cases wrong. However, having said that, from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, on January 2nd, we received the usual warm and friendly Whatley welcome. The event was well planned, with great detail given to the meals, activities, as well as all the little extras. The staff were amazing, everyone was friendly, very efficient, going above and beyond in some cases. For example; we forgot our deodorant, not a big issue, but when we checked with Sue on reception to enquire if they have an in their amenity pack we were told they did not. Next minute we get a call in our room from Sue asking us which we preferred. Several hours later when we returned to our room there in the bathroom was a can. That is what you 6* service. Well done to Micheal the new GM, you have a great team. Ricki Weston, Executive Chef and his team. It is so good that he, along with his team, come into the Lounge to explain the canapés, as well as some of the dishes during dinner. Brining the kitchen to the Dining Room. Nice touch. We also wish to thank; Connor, Liv, Manuel, Oliver, Sebastian, Darren and Matt. Izzy and Sue on Reception, A big thank you to the Housekeeping team, the behind the scene heroes of any hotel.
