The hotel is beautiful. The room is well decorated and definitely boutique. We had a standard room which was small with not a lot of spare floor space or room to unpack in general - consider this if you are not travelling light or you like a spacious room. The bed & bedding was lovely & very comfortable. The black out blind (I found the button for by chance) did it’s job to perfection. I only wish it blocked out the noise too. We had a street facing room and there were times during the night the passing night life & general street noises did disturb me as the room is not sound proof. I wish I could say we had a perfect stay, the hotel lost a star for me because of 3 issues with service and the breakfast: 1) In the bar the new & lone bar man did not know how to make any of the signature cocktails. The service seemed slow considering that we were the only guests there when we initially went in. 2) a member of staff (maybe the manager) order drinks for some guests of his, he found a different bar man to make his guest the signature cocktails (we had been previously told we couldn’t have) sending the previous bar man away while he was in the middle of making my drink. This didn’t leave a great impression to put these guests before us & it left me without a drink for 30 mins until we raised the matter. I’m sure this matter is personal to us but questionable customer service is always worth a mention in a review. Plus I really wanted one of them signature cocktails ha. 3) I would encourage you to look at the breakfast menu before paying/booking breakfast as you might be disappointed. The breakfast menu was not for us and was keeping in tie with the hotels restaurants theme. We ended up having toast & fruit. When the toast was first brought out it was warm bread, we had to ask for it to be toasted some more & my fruit never arrived, the waiter must have forgot I ordered it. The hotel was comfortable and luxurious it’s a shame the breakfast was not to our liking and we experience some unsatisfactory service.
