Melmar View Hotel

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel solo una notte, ed è stata una bellissima esperienza. Hotel di recente costruzione, molto curato nelle finiture, pulito, ed il gestore è di una cortesia ed attenzione fuori dall'ordinario (a colazione mi ha chiamato per nome per offrirmi qualcosa). Dall'hotel si gode una bellissima vista del tramonto.

This hotel is magical. From the moment we arrived (late night flight), nothing was too much trouble for the charming and friendly hosts, Dinos and Anna. We felt instantly relaxed and warmly welcomed. This hotel promotes wellbeing. The rooms and public areas are beautifully laid out and immaculately maintained. From the tempting and varied buffet breakfast to Anna’s sublime evening cocktails by the pool, the hotel exceeded our expectations. We dined in a few times and the food was excellent, the service faultless and the sunset is unbeatable. We hired a car and took advantage of all of Dinos’ recommendations - his local knowledge was a great help. Don’t hesitate to book if you’re looking for a tranquil, luxurious Kefalonian holiday.

What a fabulous week in this hotel and made extra special by Dinos and Anna , just couldn't fault it lovely from start to finish. We will definitely be back as the customer service and friendliness was beyond compare. Anyone wishing to have a beautiful place to stay near fiskardo with fabulous sunsets this is the place for you.

Amazing location on the top of the mountain, beautiful premises with a fantastic pool area, and spacious rooms with unobstructed views of the sunset into the Ionian Sea. Dinos, the hotel manager, and his wife were amazing hosts - knowledgeable and always extremely helpful! Excellent restaurant - breakfast was always fresh and plentiful with a big variety of options and new specialties every morning. Dinners at the restaurant were also fantastic! Close proximity to the amazing Emplysi beach and Fiscardo.

This is a small family run hotel. The hotel’s 11 rooms were fully booked but most guests spent their days elsewhere meaning on two days we had the pool to ourselves. Although conscious this would unlikely be the case during school holidays. Cocktails and food were excellent and were better than the one one restaurant we visited in the village. The attention to detail and hospitality shown to guests is something rarely experienced elsewhere. If we ever returned to the Island we would definitely stay again.

One of our best ever hotel experiences, and we've had a few! Stunning views, looks exactly like the photos, but the small, family-owned vibe is really brought to life by Dinos & his wife - they cannot do enough for you, right down to the small details. On-site restaurant also offers high quality food including the breakfast, and gluten-free options were not a problem either, with outdoor but under cover dining around the pool area equally great. If they could improve anything, the beds were a little hard for us but that's clutching at straws - we rarely go back to the same place but would consider it for the Melmar View.

We stayed here in August and it is a beautiful place. The swimming pool has a great view and the breakfast is great. The owners were kind and helpful. It is walking distance to some great restaurants and a lovely little village.

it was ok. as others have said v nice views, good local restaurants just down the road so you are not stuck in the hotel at night, and there is a nice pool too. staff were welcoming. but we were expecting something more given all the positive reviews and the price (over 300 euro a night for a family room ie almost the price we paid for the proper high end hotel resort in Fiscado). This is essentially a mid range hotel (think helping yourself to tea bag and boiling your kettle at the breakfast buffet rather than being served a pot of tea etc). It is somewhat lacking atmosphere (think random furniture in reception area and little character in rooms). Breakfast is ok but not special. There is a slightly silly mask policy given how few people are around. And avoid booking directly - they insist on pre payment but weren't able to process 3 cards on the phone so I needed to spend 40 minutes doing an international bank transfer having spent quite some time on booking already; really not a great way to start the holiday! I also wouldn't particularly recommend if you have kids: pool closed until 11am, it's small and there are rooms on three sides of the pool so you feel you need to hush the children all the time, and no jumping in for "safety" reasons. so better suited to couples, though the family rooms are good if you do end up here and my 5 year old was delighted that there were freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at breakfast! 

The hotel is not walking distance to Fiscado as suggested when we enquired but it is in a beautiful little village with lots of tavernas and a couple of supermarkets. You will need a car. The hotel is spotless but lacks atmosphere and feels a little awkward. Old age pensioners would feel at home in the two bizarrely decorated reception rooms with far too many sofas and seats, some in front of the TV! The bedrooms are huge but have baths rather than showers, including my pet hate - the dreaded shower curtain. The hotel has strange mask wearing requirements and could be the last place left on the island insisting on masks at breakfast. I agree with others that its a little awkward sitting around the pool and you are told not to move the sunbeds! Sunbeds on the huge private balconies would certainly help and you would have amazing views. The beds are too hard for a comfortable sleep and have no individual pocket springs so you feel every move your partner makes. I may be a little harsh but it really didn't work for me especially at the price point. There is a large unfinished block next door which I understand is an extension to the hotel. I think they would be best thinking about the current hotel flow and try to make it more welcoming. I hope they do because a few changes and this could be a really nice place to stay.
