Ok. Let me tell you about Wilder. Best medic professional on duty. My cousin caught a bacteria bug and Wilda and Milton restaurant supervisor are the best there is. Wilder checked on her 3 times a day Milton made sure my cousin was taken care off food wise. They are the best. Thank you Wilder and Milton. Now the lodge is topnotch. Clean. Well situated. And very very beautiful. I will visit again because of the care I received from the staff. Especially Wilder and Milton. Asante sana Thank you again

We have recently returned from an amazing trip to Kenya and spent four nights at the Keekorok Lodge. There are so many positive things to say about the Lodge but our stay was not without issue, so I am trying to be balanced in my review. We were collected at the Keekorok air***** by our fabulous guide Dennis Kotikash who has so much knowledge of the Maasai Mara. Unfortunately first impressions weren't great due to the vehicle that we were collected in. It looked fit for the scrap heap with dented and bashed bodywork, large bands of filler and a very dirty interior with bits hanging off the dashboard. It certainly did not look like a vehicle that you would want to go on a game drive in! We did have a quiet word with reception about our concerns and to be fair a replacement vehicle was found for our first game drive that evening. However, we understand that we are far from the first group to complain about this vehicle so it's disappointing that the hotel management persist in using it. The hotel owners really need to get their wallet out! The lodge itself is situated in beautiful open grounds and we loved the comical mongoose chasing across the lawn, baboon and the vervet monkeys. After dark you need to be escorted by security who were lovely and took us to see grazing hippos and impalas who sleep here at night as the lions don't like the lights. The hippo bar was also wonderful and we really enjoyed chatting to Kennedy who was very patient with all of our questions and showed us lots of photos of the crocodiles and hippos. Our chalet was undeniably dated and does need some modernisation. The bathroom tiles really need a good bleach but the shower was good and the beds comfortable. The fan was also a welcome addition and there were plentiful supplies of bottled water. We also loved sitting outside and watching the animals on our little patio in between game drives. The biggest issue we had was that one night into our stay, a huge tour party from India arrived which consisted of around 170 people. We were only a handful of guests not in this party and unfortunately with such a large number of people from one country, the whole atmosphere of the lodge changed. The food was almost exclusively Indian so not to our taste and the music played in the restaurant changed to Indian music. At lunch times the restaurant was packed with the sheer volume of people, making it more like a canteen. The party had gala dinners on the lawn in the evening which took a lot of the staff's attention which unfortunately meant we were overlooked and on one night forgotten about altogether - sitting in the dark in the main restaurant before we were remembered some time later! This was my 80 year old Mum's dream trip and we had been patient up to this point but had to have a word with Judy the wonderful restaurant manager to explain our feelings and disappointment about the situation. Amazing location, great ambiance, breathtaking views and extremely friendly staff. The food was below average. Honestly disappointed at the abundance of Indian food, but can see why it would appeal to those from out of india. The rooms are basic but clean. The property is old and shows. But the location is unmatched.

The most beautiful landscape, 10 minute drive form landing *****, straight into maasai mara seeing animals on the way to hotel. Staff so welcoming and lovely, maasai culture very interesting, grounds open so you regularly see hippos on the lawn, as well as hippo viewing point on site, wonderful birds all around, butterflies, monkeys, Meerkats ect. Accomodation good for a safari, game safari on is full on, we were lucky to see 4 of the big five, food good but highly Indian influenced and gets very crowded. Personally I enjoyed a day without Safari to soak in my surroundings, have a swim whilst it is quiet

Discover Africa Safaris was instrumental in planning the Nairobi/Masai Mara portion of my 50th birthday celebration at the Muthu Keekorok Lodge. I struggle to find words to describe my recent travels. The itinerary was perfect, even after my sister and I were delayed because we completely forget to secure the required visa for entry into Kenya. The trip cost was reasonably fair and totally worth the money. The entire trip details provided by Discover Africa Safaris from beginning through our few adjustments were thorough and very clear. I had the time of my life visiting Nairobi, Kenya and Masai Mara at the Muthu Keekorok lodge. Despite being a bit dated, our room was clean and each Keekorok staff member was very warm and inviting. I enjoyed the accommodations and delicious Indian-based foods served on-site. In Masai Mara, my sister and I have numerous stories that will bring us laughter for many years to come. The safari tour driver, Dennis, was the real star of the trip. He ensured that we saw as many animals as possible, including the big five (rhinoceros, lion, elephant, leopard, and Cape buffalo) within the first two drives. Dennis was timely, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable about the animals in their natural setting. We also visited a Masai village, which was a real treat. Just be careful of the attempts to overcharge for gifts while visiting with the locals. Keekorok has a pretty decent giftshop with nice and fairly priced items. I am grateful for the excellent service provided by Dennis and the entire Keekorok staff. Thank you and keep up the great support for your guests.
