Fantástico hotel, céntrico y fácil acceso… el único PERO es que el espacio wellness no lo pudimos utilizar porque estaba full reservado, podrían darle prioridad a los huéspedes del hotel, por lo demás todo bien

The whole ethos of the hotel is really miserable. The pool, one of the main draws for us, was freezing. You have to bring your towel from the room, which means that after a swim you only have hand towels to wash. The biggest issue we had was with the booking and the unhelpfulness of the staff. We had amended our dates a couple of times and unknown to me, I had a second booking that I hadn’t cancelled. So I was checking out on the 26th Dec when I was supposed to be checking in on the second booking. Nobody told me about it until two days later when I was slapped with over €600 no show fee for the full booking and they would not budge on it. We also had to argue at check out for over €150 euro of drinks that had been paid four by card and the money checked and gone from the account, but they still wouldn’t believe us. Ultimately it was their mistake but it took a lot of arguments! Check your bill!!!

We were greeted by the nicest woman who worked check in and the coffee bar. The room was clean. There is easy parking. We walked around the city (there is a loop by the river around the town). Spotlessly clean trails and the hotel was very clean. Our only problem was the glass door on the bathroom!!! A little modern for us, but everything else was perfect. We enjoyed the breakfast the next morning, but they really should remove the huge sign about compost reclamation right by where people are eating. Who wants to think about garbage while they are enjoying a beautiful meal? We would go again and highly recommend this location. The staff are wonderful.

Nice business hotel with great facilities. However this location is currently surrounded by significant construction activity. Today this commenced at 05:00am with a concrete pour. Trucks and personnel adjacent to the hotel creating significant noise. Furthermore access to this location is heavily compromised by the ongoing works not linked to the hotel
NH Mechelen has a good location and friendly staff. Beds are decent and breakfast is OK. BUT: (1) While certain parts of the hotel (e.g. reception and breakfast room) are somewhat renovated, other require urgent renovation and are far below the NH Hotels standard I'm used to (please refer to the pictures of room 506 attached), (2) A pungent sewage smell is present throughout the hotel, (3) The parking is limted to cars < 165 cm (so SUV's cannot use it), (4) The airco is very, very old, makes a huge noise and does not work adequately, (5) And all this for 186 €/ night (breakfast included), which is far too expensive for the poor quality offered. See pictures attached: (1) Curtains which could not be closed (30- 40 cm), (2) Curtains with a lot of holes, (3) Dead insects on the the window, curtain and at the coffee machine, (4) and (5) Furniture with all over scratches, (6) A new door lock was installed but the remains of the previous system were not removed.

I had a very negative experience with the front desk staff that checked me in this past week. My husband and I booked a stay at this hotel back in April for 4 nights. They sent me an email stating that they weren't able to charge my credit card on the reservation, which made sense because we had forgotten we had just received a new card to replace the expired one. They asked that I look at my account, so they can charge a new card. If I failed to do that in 24 hours, then my booking would be cancelled. Approx 13 hours of receiving that email, I went in and updated the credit card information on the account and sent them an email confirming I did so. When I arrived at this hotel to check in a month later (which was this past week), the front desk staff told me that the reservation was cancelled. I showed them the email that they sent me and the one I had sent to them. I also showed them my original reservation number. They looked into it for a while, but they told me that ultimately the reservation was cancelled so they can't do anything. They were also all booked up on one of the four nights we were supposed to stay there, so they could only check us in for 2 nights (Thurs-Fri). Up to this point, I was confused but I wasn't upset. I understand things can happen, and I was eager to work this out. However, what really pushed me over the edge was the fact that the front desk staff showed no empathy for the situation I was in. I told them that I never received any email that my reservation was cancelled. I even asked if there were any other alternative hotels, as we were traveling from outside the country and did not know the area well. The staff person I was talking to responded with very little attempt at professionalism, and instead told me that we should solve this ”later” as I was holding up the line. I believe her words were along the lines of, ”you should turn around, look at the line.” When I asked her when ”later” would be, she let out a small laugh which was a very confusing response to what I thought was a valid question. This is when I was starting to feel incredulous. I wanted her assistance, but I got rudeness and condescension in return. I tried my best not to raise my voice even though I was getting frustrated, and I told her that I felt I was getting penalized for something that wasn't my fault. Still, there was no attempt to help me with the situation, and I felt like I was being waved away. At the very end of our interaction, the staff person told me that if there is a room that opens up on Sat they would contact me to let me know. I asked how they would contact me on updates (would it be through the hotel phone? My international number? Call, email, or text?) and I received a very frustrated look and a sigh in return, not a helpful response. I am still unsure why she acted this way, when I genuinely wanted to understand how I would be contacted. (And they never actually contacted me... even to tell me they were still all boo
