Best Western Leigh Park Hotel

The property was in a lovely setting and very easy to find. Check-In went smoothly but when asking were the restaurant and pointing towards a door, I got told no, and a s******ed laugh, silence and then getting the directions after 10 seconds. The room was clean but had at least a dozen flies flying around. The bed was old and you could feel the springs in the mattress. The restaurant was lovely and both dinner and breakfast were delicious but no menus were available online, so I just had to hope they cater for dietary requirements

Checked in, and not told about the huge wedding prior arrival. Our room was next to the wedding room. No heating. Not told any information. Breakfast was awful, not even asked if we want tea or coffee. When I got my coffee it was in a sachet. The continental had been ransacked by the wedding. The hot food , well non existent. Had clearly not been replenished. We spent a lot of money , and I would even call this a 2 star. I will be contacting management.

We had a family get together to celebrate my mum’s 80th birthday so there were 12 of us staying and we pre ordered our dinner for the Saturday evening. The staff were lovely - very helpful and friendly and were quick to upgrade my sister and her husband when they couldn’t remain in their room because of an unpleasant smell. We were however disappointed on a number of fronts. The hotel is looking quite tired especially the standard bedrooms though our beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms have been updated so are quite nice with lovely walk in showers in some rooms. The dinner was good in parts (starters) but the mains were variable ie the duck was over cooked and my brother-in-law’s peppercorn sauce was completely overloaded with peppercorns, so much so he couldn’t eat most of his meal. In fairness the staff tried their best and brought out a new batch of sauces and replaced the duck for one of our party and then took the cost of the sauces and a couple of the desserts off the bill - I believe they were short staffed that evening which can’t have helped. But combined with a disappointing breakfast (overcooked scrambled eggs, waiting times for sausages, beans and bacon) it just came up short. Having said all of that my mum loved the weekend and the grounds behind the hotel are lovely plus the short trip into Bradford on Avon is well worth a visit.

I'll start by mirroring what many others have said - the staff here are all very pleasant and helpful. However, the hotel itself is looking very run down and focuses more on events than hotel guests. Where to start? Maybe breakfast. Don't pay to add it at the time of booking - we were charged £21 a night, but it's only £10 when paid on the day, £7 for the continental. If you are veggie or vegan it's barely worth it, although we didn't find out until the last day they do offer vegan sausages. In general though it's a very poor buffet. Limited range, no fruit salad, basic quality. Could do much better. The room itself wasn't great either - the bed was very uncomfortable, and as it was just two singles pushed together was also too short for anyone tall. The bathroom is badly laid out - the door opens the wrong way for starters, making it awkward to even get in past the toilet. We had a problem with the shower not draining - we raised this every day but even by the last night of 4 it was only improved slightly, not fixed. Noise and heat are big issues. Even though it wasn't hot when we were there, you needed the window fully open to stay cool, and as we were facing the events suite it was very noisy so hard to sleep. When an event is on you'll struggle to get parked, and if it's a wedding you'll be kept awake until the small hours. They advertise the vineyard but it's in very poor condition - I'd not want wedding photos taking there for example! So much potential as well...

Booked an executive room, thinking our room would look like the hotel’s online photos (of large rooms with bay windows, armchairs sitting area, large bathroom with window). Our room was in the Vendange building, very plain, not large in any way (barely enough space to squeeze between the wall/window & the bed) and with a really small bathroom (can touch the walls when opening your arms). We were told that a room is classified as ‘executive’ due to the large(r) bed & that they show their best executive rooms on the web… The shower pressure was really terrible. The breakfast was ok but pretty basic. On the plus side, the hotel was quiet & the reception staff were very nice.

Room was beautiful and scenery stunning. I must say what made it for us was the staff everyone was great but Richie made us feel very special and gave us five star service. He was on the ball when he saw our glasses were empty and asking if we’d like to order another, we didn’t have to move it was a Tuesday so possibly would be busier on a weekend but he made us feel very welcome and was polite and professional but also friendly. Lovely grounds to hotel and food very nice. We had an evening meal and breakfast. Next time we’ll stay a bit longer.

It was nice stay. The restaurant was not so good. Breakfast was all English for two days. Why bot some continental chees, ham... The shower was not proprely cleanded somf fungus. But was a nice place

This stay was a vast improvement on my previous stay. The staff were very friendly, reception and bar were staffed, andcthe food had improved
