I don’t think I’ve ever had an experience quite as terrible as I did here & unfortunately I was celebrating my anniversary. A designer handbag of sentimental value was stolen out of my room & I wish I had read the reviews because this isn’t the first time something like this happens. My boyfriend (who gifted me the bag) & I both saw it prior to leaving to the spa in the morning on the chair next to the bed. When we came back to start getting ready for dinner it was gone. We reported it immediately. We also called our doorman back home to check our apartment to make sure we hadn’t left it behind. We were both in complete disbelief that this would happen at a place like this. The investigation requires checking hours of security footage & can take months assuming that the staff member would be stupid enough to be unaware of where security cameras are & wouldn’t conceal it. I didn’t receive any sort of compensation, discount, a free drink, a promo code nothing. Just a generic so sorry about this with an air of we don’t care nor do we believe you. As a woman of color, I can’t help but wonder if my case would’ve been treated with a better sense of urgency or overall consideration if I were white like the majority of patrons. This isn’t the type of customer service I’m used to from any hotel let alone 5 star when even smaller incidents would happen. They will reach out to me with “updates” on this “case” which sounds like they hope I let it go at some point.

We had the worst service and experience at Gurneys. The hotel and service was terrible. Took over two hours to get a drink and food by their beach area. Room service got our food order wrong twice. Numerous things in the room were broken or falling apart. The hotel was busy hosting outsiders for beach parties instead of hotel guest who are paying 2k a night. The property was not pleasant to be at. The entire reason we picked a full service hotel was to have service which we had to beg for things and wait ridiculous amounts of time. I was a fan of this property in the past but it’s not the same anymore. The priority of the property has switched and it’s really gone downhill. I would not recommend to anyone right now and I truly regret picking this property and spending my money here.

Super overrated! Rooms were small and very motelish. We ended up leaving. Bathroom upon arrival in the lobby had not been cleaned during the day.

The service was really bad. All amenities are closed or under constriction yet they still charge a resort fee. They run it like a two star hotel/resort.

I came here for a quiet get away. They “upgraded” me without me asking BUT to a room that had construction going on outside. I specially asked if there would be noise and they said no they are starting in two weeks. I went to change rooms because I had a bad feeling and the front desk was cold and acted like I had the audacity to ask and that they could down grade me back, when clearly the hotel was not full. Next morning, I get woken up to noise the one day I could sleep in. Took them till 3pm to change my room when I called them at 8am. Also the heat did not work. It was 63 degrees and I was freezing. Poorly managed, No credit or late check out offered or anything no one cared at all. I had to ask for late check out and they gave me only 30 minutes….The new room was lovely but the staff literally does not care about you or your experience at all. The main saving grace is the bath house. It’s epic and amazing and the safe was nice and on top of it, feels high end And the fitness classes with Kat were amazing. Kat went out of her way to provide excellence. The gym was great. The food was really good. Drinks were amazing. The igloo experience is under whelming but nice for a group Overall poorly managed and lack of care from front desk but the property is beautiful. I was bummed because I wanted to do a silent retreat but since I couldn’t be in my room all day I was not able too. Without the room situation 9 out of 10, with the room and how management handled it 4 out of 10.

The Staff are what make this place the breakfast staff amazing and the reception. I travel all over the world and it’s so refreshing to stay outside of the Marriot and Hilton groups. I enjoyed my 4 days there it was fantastic and relaxing well done keep up the work
