This quality of this hotel is not at all commensurate with the quality of the many hotels of a similar price in which we have stayed in India and it is difficult to see how it justifies the price. It offers a mixture traditional rooms and modern rooms. The traditional rooms are of a poor standard and require updating, particularly the bathrooms. The newer ‘deluxe’ rooms are of basic quality, quite small. Ours had a damp odour and there was evidence of plumbing and structural problems next to the outside of our door (see photos). The service in the restaurant is appalling. With the exception of one waitress (Bindiya) our requests and those of the other guests had to be followed up several times. Despite this when the bill is presented for signature the waiters stood expectantly waiting for a tip. The outside area lacks charm (see photo) however it is preferable to the dark canteen like dining room where tables are laid from breakfast. Many guests take food outside, occupying tables that were not laid up, finding their own cutlery to carry ***** with their food. In contrast, the female receptionist was extremely helpful and charming. The only redeeming factor of this hotel.

We booked a room in the heritage section for 2 nights hoping to experience the vibes of this one-time royal guest house. On Arrival, we were informed that we have been upgraded to the luxury section. To our utter shock, we discovered that the royal section was a poorly maintained section, which is a modern construction. There was no heritage in that section. There were cockroaches in the room and there was constant noise of maintenance as there was some work happening outside our room. The corridor was dirty and uneven. Clearly the hotel cheated us by not giving us the requested room. Also, if they have to do major maintenance, then they should not allot rooms in this section to guests till the work is completed. The hotel has clearly demonstrated its greed and lack of customer focus by treating guests so shabbily. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. Pls avoid this hotel and dont get taken in by the glossy photos and description.

L'hôtel ROYAL ORCHID METROPOLE est une magnifique adresse au coeur de MYSORE. Un vrai palais au charme de la colonisation britannique, ou l'on s'y sent bien. Accueil et bienveillance du personnel, à la hauteur des prestations de ce palace. Très bonne cuisine (on a apprècie déjeuner ou dîner dans les jardins) Une magnifique salle pour déjeuner ou dîner en intérieur. Bref, nous ne pouvons que recommander cette adresse "des mille et une nuits".

Nous sommes venus pour déjeuner ce midi Le cadre est vaste et charmant nous avons mangé dehors La nourriture fut très bonne pour moi un peu moins pour mon époux qui bien qu’il ait demandé peu épicé a eu un plat in mangeable pour un européen Le service lent n’est pas toujours au top surtout au niveau féminin lorsqu’une jeune serveuse veut nous prouver par À+ B que la bouteille d’eau apportée est fraîche Heureusement un serveur masculin a rétabli la vérité et nous a amené une bouteille d’eau fraîche
