Hotel charge 40.00 per person per night extra then what I pre paid plus I called hotel due to emergency and told desk lady about that and she said ok up on check in manager said she has to talk to above her and next day she said we can’t do anything since it was pre paid. Also room has dent on the wall and bed frame is broken front door lock has plate missing

Great location

The Holiday Inn Express is perfect for people who want a clean and comfortable accommodation without staying at an "all-inclusive" resort. The Bahamian culture and the Nassau area are so beautiful, and it would be a shame to lock yourself into a sealed resort where you don't really interact with locals. Service here was fantastic -- my air conditioner was misbehaving a bit on the first day, and I asked someone to come take a look, and instead they upgraded me to a larger room to make sure they had time to look at the a/c and that I didn't spend a moment being uncomfortable, which was above and beyond my expectations. They have a really tasty hot breakfast, and their snack selection, available 24 hours a day to be picked up at reception and billed to your room, is broad and includes even full microwave meals (for when you're hungry at 3am on an island with very to no overnight food places available). The prices are very, very reasonable, as well -- after snacking pretty consistently throughout my seven-day stay, I expected my snack and beer bill to get a little crazy, but it turned out to be about $20 after I ate and drank well over $20 worth of stuff. It's easy to walk to downtown and shop, book tours, etc. from here, and the beach is right across the street. The Fish Fry at Arawak Cay is a 5-10 minute walk away as well. Most of what I wanted to see and do was an easy commute on foot, and cabs to and from the hotel were reasonably priced, when I was way too tired. Plus, the #10 city bus runs right past it. I would definitely recommend this place to travelers who are pretty independent in a new location, but also like comfort and great service. It was the perfect balance for me.

The hotel was easy to check in and walking distance to so many spots.

Rst room sink was not draining

There were quite a few things wrong with this property. Overpriced for what was provided. I know why though, because of the accessibility to the beach. First, the pictures of are deceiving. The rooms are small. The outside view was photoshopped. Heavily in need of a makeover, renovation or upgrade. Second, hot water is none existent. Taking a shower was very annoying no matter what time of day or night. There is a small ant issue that was in the bathroom. Showers need to be remodeled with shelving to place personal shower items. Third. The peephole on the outside was missing a piece to it so you can see straight in to the room from the outside. I took toothpaste and covered the peephole with tissue over the toothpaste. Fourth. There is no laundry facility on site. Pool side bar was closed my entire stay. The breakfast was ok for what it was. I did not want any housekeeping during my stay. I did have to ask for an iron to be brought up to me to use. The staff was very pleasant and well mannered. I would not recommend this location until an overall renovation is done. I have worked for HIE and I know revenue is more important than property renovations. Not the best way to run a business. I enjoyed my stay in the Bahamas just not the hotel.

Fire/warning system alarm went off three times at 3am and 4am. Room we reserved was not available. Had to split up my family into two different rooms. Overall, a pretty sub par property and extremely expense for a one night stay.
