I had a reservation on December 5 to the 7. I had a delayed flight coming in from international and arrived in the city past midnight I called the hotel multiple times before and after my flight to try and advise them that I was going to be late and advise them that I had landed and to understand the steps for our late check in. Despite 20 calls to the front desk, no one picked up the phone and no one was physically at the front desk to check me in so I had to go find other accommodations. They charged me $900 for one night since it was during the holiday season. It’s embarrassing that for what they were charging people for a night the hotel staff weren’t competent enough to check me in. When I returned the next morning to check into the other half of my reservation, I was told that I apparently was lying and there were in fact three people scheduled to have worked that evening and proceeded to tell me that I had to pay for the 2 nights regardless. Since I had nowhere else to stay, I had no choice they basically were holding me hostage not to mention when I finally got to my room it was beyond simple and I supposedly chose a “premium room”, there wasn’t even a mini fridge. With all the other options for hotels in New York, I certainly will never be coming back here, and I would advise that no one does either & you take your money elsewhere especially anybody traveling from international.
