Hotel Viking is in a very convenient location to downtown Newport. The employees were all very friendly and the hotel was nice. We did have an issue getting housekeeping to our room. ( It took 2 requests). We needed the sink area vacuumed and the coffee machine swapped out. They finally swapped the machine but never did vac the sink area. Given the resort fee I figured they would be right on it. We stayed 2 nights and had a nice time. We would return again.

The room was very small and the storage space for the clothes was very limited (the safe is at the bottom occupying all the width so dresses don’t hang properly). The bathroom was ridiculously small (I travelled all over the World and this is the smallest bathroom I have ever seen!). There was no rack for the towels, A half sink with poor water flow. No place to put vanity stuff. There was no note in the room telling us that we needed to tell the desk if we wanted the room cleaned so the second day of our stay, the room was not cleaned and the towels did not get changed. The air conditioning unit was incredibly loud. There was no proper ventilation on the 3rd floor hallway. It smelled pretty bad. I started sneezing every time I got out of the room. Though the staff was very pleasant and helpful, because of everything mentioned above and the cost being high for the size of the room, we will NOT be returning to this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff were all lovely. However, the property (or at least the area we stayed in) was tired. The springs in the mattress were broken and it sagged when you sat on the edge of the bed. The carpet was gross and needed to be replaced. The furnishings were beautiful and the bathroom was quaint with the old marble fixtures, but it had a shower curtain which personally grosses me out. For the price, I expected a little more.

Hotel Viking is very conveniently located and within walking distance to much of what Newport has to offer. It is a pretty hotel and staff was pleasant. However, the room's a/c system was extremely noisy. Some of hotel had a musty smell and area of leaky ceilng. overall - ok

I have reservation for my daughter and son in law for 4 nights. They stayed only one night and checked out next day. The bed was bad , not clean, bathroom was not clean, not recommended. They did pictures, but i can't download. They take same night for other 3 nights in Brenton hotel, which is excellent.
