The hotel is ok, old but trying to keep up, it’s at a very good location, many shops and restaurants around. Everything is just walking distance both Towan Beach and Great Western Beach. If you need a public laundry there is also one very close about 4 minutes. In my opinion I think the management should really try to upgrade their facilities because it’s really old, nevertheless it was a great stay.

Because of stuff ups with flights I wasn’t able to get to Cornwall last night so I can’t review the hotel. I’m sure it’s lovely.

Unfortunately, everything about this stay was terrible. We were greeted by a very unfriendly staff member on arrival. The room was smelly and mouldy. The whole hotel is Very dated - it’s a real shame as you can clearly see how impressive it would have been once upon a time.

Lovely old hotel in a great location, close to shops, bars and restaurants and also Newquay's beautiful beach's. The worst part is the that the smoking area is right next to the main entrance. So you have to walk through a ploom of smoke or, if the door is open the hotel smells of smoke. Its not all of the time, but not nice when there are a few people out there smoking.

Paid extra for “Superior” family suite with double bed&2 single beds for our 2 teenagers plus a sea view disappointed to get a basic family room with little old wobbly bunk beds. Paying nearly £700 for 2 nights wasn’t expecting Surf Hostel standards!! Raised issue with on site female manager with pink hair told she’d arrange for housekeeping to put a double sofa bed in room instead as all rooms booked out. Next day this still hadn’t happened so raised issue again told she could only offer an apology. Asked for financial compensation as teenagers having to set up mattresses on floor to sleep and significant difference in price from standard to superior suites and told no. Asked for the Hotel Manager I a Curtis to call me to discuss further and still waiting. Also toilet blocked which reported to maintenance to fix and gross live silverfish in bathroom as not been cleaned good enough. Hotel has passed its time sadly, great location though. Breakfast good selection and tasty with pleasant sea views. Staff let place down.

Checking in- Quick but things missed ie I am disabled so and I needed a disabled parking place I had called 4 days before and was told they would sort it when we arrived I was told the parking outside is for disabled guests I explained I have a blue badge and I noted this on my booking. This had been missed. Also we were given a room on second floor. With no lift in service. No notifications of no lift was given before we got there. We were told that we were sent an email to tell us that the lift was under maintenance. We never got anything from them. Once in our room for the duration we had no hot water so we had cold showers. We were staying 2 nights. When asked about the water we were told an emergency plumber was on the job. No one in hotel had hot water everyone was complaining. One the last day I asked about their complaints process I was asked to leave my details and the manager would contact me but I am waiting their call. Breakfast was good.

Stayed at the hotel before which is in a great position for Newquay and is very clean for such a large hotel. Disapointed with the room. Same room as previous year which is so small.
