I recently stayed at Vertoef, drawn by its promising location and amenities. Unfortunately, the experience fell short due to the unsettling a**osphere and the owner's approach to human interactions. Despite the convenience of parking and the allure of it's location, the environment within Vertoef felt tense, with staff seemingly on edge. This tension was exacerbated by the owner's demeanor; witnessing him raise his voice at people was discomforting. My interactions with him felt disingenuous, particularly when I observed a preferential trea**ent towards guests who appeared more wealthy. For instance, a few years back, when I visited with my family, who may at times adopt an appearance that could be interpreted as more affluent, the trea**ent we received was noticeably warmer. It's worth noting, however, that the accommodations themselves were quite basic, underscoring that the establishment isn't necessarily targeting a higher-end clientele. All of this contrasted starkly with a previous stay at an Airbnb in the building next door (similarly colored balconies), where the relaxed a**osphere and fair trea**ent made for a much more enjoyable experience without sacrificing the benefits of location. In sharing this, my hope is for Vertoef to reconsider the importance of genuine hospitality and a welcoming a**osphere, ensuring all human beings feel valued and respected.
