I will not stay at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott again.
When I checked in, I was greeted by indifferent staff that made it clear that were inconvenienced that I was checking in. They did do their job, but just barely. I was not greeted, I was not given explanation about parking or dining or even where the elevators were located.
When I went to my room, the key did not work. I went back to the front desk to have the key fixed.....it did not work again, and a service person was sent to my room. He opened the door....and the room was already occupied by a woman. It was a frightening, embarrassing, scary experience. When I went back to the front desk again, no one apologized or explained the situation. In fact, the staff acted like me entering a strangers room was not a big deal.
The hotel's valet parking is inefficient. It took a long time for them to retrieve my car.
The hotel restaurant was good.
