Likes, Bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, staff were friendly. Dislikes. Property looks abandoned from the outside, twin room was tiny. The bathroom was extremely cold due to gaps behind toilet letting outside air blow through. There was a smell of damp in the dining area where breakfast was served

From the outside this property looks run down but nothing could be further from the truth once you’re inside.
Apparently council tardiness is responsible for the lack of external refurb as the building is listed.
The rooms are spotless and very well provisioned in every sense. The dining room serves excellent food for both breakfast and other meals and at reasonable prices.
Ignore the facade and do yourself a favour!!

Very handy for Haddington. Staff were very hospitable and helpful.
Obviously still in development and updating but helpful staff made up for this. We would go there again.

Over all the hotel was in a lovely village location and easy to walk to shops, restaurants and public transport. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the bathroom wasn't good. There was mould all around the shower ceiling and tiles. The property and grounds and our room looked nothing like the photos shown on website. Property is in need of some TLC so we were disappointed.
