The Bull Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

They have a carpark at the back which is a different postcode, and if you drive past the front you will receive a penalty notice. None of this is mentioned on the website so phone beforehand to get the postcode of the car park. Every member of staff I encountered was under 25, and as miserable as sin, there wasn't a smile amongst any of them, and it was obvious that none of them wanted to be there. Never again

I had phoned earlier to say that I would be late, The night staff were rude and wouldn't hand me the key to the second room I had booked as my daughter hadn't arrived. They charged me again for the room and didn't give me directions to the room at first. We went from nook to corner to find our room! The second room When I finally got the key was in another part of the building and had no air con -on the hottest day of the year which was unbearable. The day staff were competent and gave me the refund for the extra payment taken and also gave me the key to the second room I had booked!

Only stayed for one night but from the first time I contacted the hotel (to get driving directions) I was surprised by the poor customer service. This was no better when I was by bluntly told that check in was not until 2 and that bags could not be dropped off due to limited storage. Finally got to the room which was basic (this is a 4 star hotel?) with no hand soap in the bathroom and a single shower gel as the only toiletry. Definitely do not recommend and would not stay again.

The Hotel is an oasis in a sea of desperate looking individuals who hang around the nearby streets. Nothing to do other than visit pubs you would have given a large swerve to back home, but it’s a decent hotel, however the menu is not what it was before Great Western acquired it.

Bed comfortable, room ok, breakfast good, bar ok, bar food ok, good parking (though entrance and exit barriers not working so not overly secure but better than public parking), location convenient for city centre. Overall ok.

Great stay. Lovely hotel. Room was spacious, bed very comfortable. Food was very good both in the brassiere for a meal in the evening and breakfast was good too. Minor issue getting a beer from the bar……my first and second choice of beer both barrels were empty (at 6 pm??!!!) but third choice, I was in luck. Pleasant ambience in the Bar. The next morning, check out was easy. Mention for the Receptionist who dealt with a very obnoxious, female, senior citizen aged customer VERY professionally so congratulations to her, a credit to the hotel staff and management.

Hotel was clean and comfortable the only negative thing was no air con needed it as it was 31 degree that weekend. A fan was available it helped but all in all an enjoyable stay
