德霍恩酒莊(Powderhorn Chateau)

Stayed 1 night with my wife, room was clean and comfortable, the view was beautiful, food and staff was perfect. Plenty of thing to do we did the walks next time mountain biking Would I go back and recommend to friends and family HELL yes I loved staying there and will be going back soon.

En arrivant à l’hôtel, on se croirait dans les Alpes en Autriche. Grand chalet en bois, très joli et cosy. Belle chambre avec salle de bain agréable. Proche des randonnées dans le parc de Tongariro. Seul bémol pour nous, européens, restaurant fermé le soir du réveillon , seul la brasserie ouverte, pas de menu spécial !! Vraiment une expérience très différente de la France.

Cet hôtel a été choisi par les organisateurs d’un voyage de groupe. Nous y avons couché une nuit lors de notre voyage en Nouvelle-Zélande. C’est une très belle chambre avec les murs en bois. La chambre était très grande avec un très grand lit. La salle de bain avait un bain et une douche et était d’une bonne grandeur. Il y avait un patio que nous n’avons pas utilisé Nous avons déjeuné et le buffet était très bon. Le wifi était très bien.

Sembrava una baita di montagna, ma con tutti i comfort del caso: piscina riscaldata, ristorante e bar per pasti e colazione, camere moderne, rustiche e tutte in legno. La proprietaria ci ha accolto benissimo ed è stata molto disponibile. La struttura è anche un'ottima base di appoggio per chi come noi è amante del trekking: a noi è servita come base per il Tongariro Alpine trekking, esperienza pazzesca!

Siamo stati a marzo. Era una tappa inutile per poi proseguire verso Rotorua. Paese dormiente essendo fuori stagione sciistica. Hotel completamente in legno. Scricchiola tutto, rumori da ogni parte. Terribile esperienza, menomale eravamo lì per una notte sola. L’unica cosa positiva è la piscina riscaldata.

We decided to break our train journey from Wellington to Aukland and took a chance on this Chateau. We were so glad that we did. We stayed for two nights, in "The House", not a hotel room. This is a three-bedroom house with a good kitchen and bathroom, comfortable lounge room and nice outdoor terrace. It also has a wood fired heater, for which they provide plenty of wood. Then there's the dining room! We weren't disappointed there either. We ate there both nights and had delicious food. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, including taking us into town to the supermarket. Otherwise, it was a looong walk. A special shout out to Scarlett who was a great help following the unexpected cancellation of our next accommodation in Aukland.

The staff and hospitality were beyond excellent. Everyone was helpful and friendly. They offered transportation and information about the area.

Very charming hotel! Wish we had more time to stay. The property feels very much like a ski lodge and I'm sure is gorgeous in the winter. Just as nice and more quiet in the summer! We ate at the more casual restaurant - great food and enjoyed having drinks on the rooftop patio. We didn't have a chance to swim in the heated pool but it looked lovely. We loved learning that some of the Lord of the Rings cast stayed here when they were filming! 10/10 recommend
