安博塞利AA小屋酒店(AA Lodge Amboseli)

Lodge a pochi km da un delle entrate al Parco Amboseli, struttura curata solamente nella parte frontale, le ultime strutture sono lasciate al caso, erba alta, poca illuminazione e strutture poco confortevoli. La stanza, una superior, dove ho alloggiato faceva parte di una serie di stanze a schiera. Non era presente un climatizzatore nè un ventilatore (era veramente necessario). il letto era scomodo, il materasso basso e duro non consentiva un ottimo riposo ed aveva la rete per proteggere dagli insetti strappata. Insetti, tanti insetti all'interno della stanza, zanzariera del bagno rotta (impossibile aprire le finestre) Non ho utilizzato il balcone con vista Kilimangiaro in quanto lasciato all'incuria. (la finestra non ha la zanzariera) Piscina non curata, 5/6 lettini arrugginiti. Cibo nella media. Personale cortese.

The dirtiest and most unfriendly place I have ever stayed in. Bed sheets had BROWN marks on them. Mosquito net FULL of holes. Dirty walls. Spider and cobwebs .Sheets had holes.Toilet had something horrendous in it. Only 1 towel provided so no hand towel or floor towel. Curtain not even hooked on. On arrival juice was served in a totally broken/fractured glass. NOT 1 person helped me with my bags. The bar was unmanned for 5 mins so me and other guests helped ourselves. Only 5 cold beers in the fridge and NO tonic. (whatever, not a train smash but adds to the impression this lodge is going under). I felt so dirty I skipped dinner. For over 150$...this is unfair, outrageous, poor value.

I was visiting this lodge with my family and we had booked a year in advantage for 3 cottages for 10 people. When we arrived only 3 out of 10 got a cottage and rest got an extremely warm tent with no mosquito nets around their beds, bouncy floor, no doors for toilet and very small beds (1200x200 for a “king size bed”) for a family of 3 and 4. It was a real hassle and a big frustration for the rest of the family to sleep without the mosquito net and hotel didn’t give a sh*t about it. It was only after hours of complaining they send some staff down to the tent to set up the mosquito nets. Their manager claimed that malaria is not existent in this part of Kenya which is a straight up freaking lie. After a lot of trouble and continued complaining about that we ordered 3 cottages in a year of advantage they booked OUR rooms for their tribe family (which the receptionist confirmed that they were) we ask for some compensation for our drinks at the meals (we stayed for 2 days cause of safari) that we AT LEAST should get for free. A very small demand for a lot of negative energy and hassle. That was denied by their manager because the tents and cottages cost the same (theirs a WORLD of difference between the two kind of rooms) The compensation was that the rest of family got the cottages the next day (that we already had ordered in advantage) that was booked because their friends and family had our rooms. The staff in the reception, and manger doesn’t give a sh*t about customer service and would rather have their friends stay than tourists that have payed and booked rooms. Never this again!

Après un accueil peu chaleureux, on nous a emmené à notre chambre tente. La porte était ouverte et des animaux avaient visiblement fait la fête sur nos lits. Des traces noires partout. Nous avons demandé à changer de chambre ce qui a embêté le personnel. 2nde chambre les interrupteurs avaient les fils dénudés des trous dans la salle de bain de la taille d’un ballon laissait rentrer tous les animaux volants. Des vieux caleçons abandonnés dans la penderie et des animaux morts partout nous a fait douter de la propreté du lieu.Nous avons demandé à changer, Visiblement ça a commencé à vraiment agacer le personnel.3eme chambre : la porte ne fermait pas. Pas de serviette pas d’eau chaude et une chambre à la propreté douteuse loin de la chambre de nos enfants. Le robinet se soulevait de la table et tout commençait à rouiller. Je me suis même blessée.Le lodge reçoit l’électricité et a des panneaux solaires. On peut s’attendre à mieux. Aucun entretien ni soin.Vraiment je ne recommande pas.

Not a place to stay. Many other options around. Only good thing is location but a lot of lodges around. Manager is useless. Does not respond to messages and never seems to be there. Also was misinformed about something which led to a large problem that management didn’t want to deal with. Ignoring all messages after realising the issue. Beds are very uncomfortable, pillows are even worse. The food is okay, breakfast was best meal of the day. Heard a few people in reception complain about AA not accomodating their needs. Must be an on going issue. Wouldn’t stay again due to incompetence with management and no reasoning with. Many other lodges around that would respect their guests better. Especially for the price. Staff at buffet were nice. Reception on their phones, no smiles, not my type of place. Happy to explain more if anyone wants to know and would love someone from AA Lodge upper management to get in touch. I have tried many channels but continuously get ignored…. Typical

Es un buen sitio para descubrir el parque de Amboseli, está muy convenientemente situado cerca de la entrada y con vistas preciosas del Kilimanjaro. El personal es muy servicial, la comida es bastante buena y tipo buffet, si viajas con niños esto es un plus. Las instalaciones están limpias y rodeadas de mucha vida, te encuentras monos y otros animalitos en el mismo recinto. Como negativo, las instalaciones están viejas y quizás deberían cuidarlas un poco. Pero tampoco echamos nada en falta y pudimos disfrutar de una habitación familiar y estar los 4 juntos, también un plus en Kenia.

I just got back from Kenya after a good 2 weeks. My vacation started with AA lodge Amboseli. I have stayed here before and it was nothing special. We were assured by the management that things have changed and our experience would be better. Taking their words at face value was a big mistake. The staff are very unfriendly. There is clear discrimination in the way they treat guests. My friend and safari guide decided to meet up for lunch after checking in. When I went to my room, the staff knocked on my door and told me that guides/drivers are not allowed to socialize with guests. We wanted to resolve this by speaking to the manager, but he was clueless and said those are the hotel rules. We informed the main office of AA lodge and Dan who made our bookings assisted to sorting out this issue. But the damage was already done. The rest of the days we were given the cold shoulder by the staff. The rooms on the other hand are average at best. Food is a hit or miss, the latter more often. The only positive is that these guys are located close to the gate. All in all I will avoid this place like the plague. Of course, if you are white skinned, you may receive better trea**ent.

The only plus is the location near to Amboseli national park. The camp is filthy and unmaintained. Staff bored, unfriendly and even rude (especially women). We stayed for 2 nights and nobody came to take out the rubbish or replenish the toilet paper. Everything looks really old. Food was terrible. Swimming pool disgusting. Big though uncomfortable pillows. Mosquito nets provided. Hot water and power all through the day.

I was in this lodge for three days/ two nights with my family of 4 (2 children of 4 and 7 yo). The lodge has tribal decoration, wide space, amazing view to the Kilimanjaro, great food, cosy rooms and some very nice employers. Those were the aspects we truly loved it and to be honest, those are reason enough to return and to recommend it. The not so nice aspect: it feels like the hotel before was an amazing lodge but because of idk.. pandemic, or other issues its quality decreased specially in what concerns the sympathy and availability from the staff. To be honest I think the ones managing the lodge were very few. It rained heavily in the last day of our stay and the way to my lodge which was far from either the reception, the swimming pool and the restaurant (in this point I also have my question marks, since we were with two children.. almost the furthest room) and when checking out, lots of slippery mud was in the way. I almost fell for three times when carrying the trolleys (I did two travels from the room to the reception because of the all the bags and to help the kids and my wife). I advised the reception and no one minded to help me. Sort of funny, as by the time when all was clean and clear at the checkin I had all the help needed. Also I felt the rooms were not so clean as they should (under the beds specifically)
