We really enjoyed our stay at the Lawrence. The hotel is quite quirky in a really nice way. Everywhere is spotless and well presented. The rooms are spacious and really well coordinated. There’s a pretty good menu choice with gf and vegetarian options and the food is what fine dining is all about. The full English breakfast is a proper plateful of locally sourced ingredients and is cooked to perfection. The evening meal was cooked equally well. We had a steak and ale pie and a chicken, ham and leak pie on the first night and fish pie on the second night. It is really refreshing to see quality ingredients used which were cooked to perfection. We would happily stay here again

The service was excellent from first enquiry to the actual stay. The food at our Golden Wedding Anniversary meal was superb and the staff made all our plans come together. The accommodation was high quality and the whole event was topped off by an exceptional breakfast.

We had afternoon tea for 18 friends and colleagues. Very disappointing. The cucumber sandwiches were terrible. Not buttered and hardly any cucumber. They forgot about sausage rolls so offered chips when we were into our scones. Disappointing snd not cheap

Stayed new years Eve, the staff where very attentive we stayed for food which was amazing and entertainment for New Year’s Eve was also excellent 👌 would definitely recommend staying,the rooms are spotless and very comfortable, Loved it made our New Year’s Eve very memorable

We got married at The Lawrence on Saturday. It was the most perfect day and that was down to the meticulous care and attention given by the whole team. Olivia was an amazing wedding coordinator and ensured everything went to time without a hitch. The whole venue looked beautiful. Our guests were all commenting on the lovely building and decor, the intimate setting, and of course, the amazing food. From canapés, to wedding breakfast, evening Buffet and breakfast the next morning everything was delicious and served with the utmost care and by friendliest team of hospitality staff. Honestly those young people were amazing. I cannot recommend nor thank Michael and his team and The Lawrence enough. Memories will last us a lifetime.

Went to the Lawrence for a family birthday and I feel disappointed by the experience. Can I add I’ve been to the Lawrence for lunch before and thought it was really good . For a start 4 options on the menu were not available one was the fish pie which is what I was looking forward to. I ordered the soup for a starter which was supposed to be leek and potato but when it arrived it looked like a bowl of carrot crush. When we asked what it was the waitress said it was a winter soup which we wasn’t made aware of when ordering. It came with bread which was stale. My main was sausage and mash which was pretty good and tasty. And I had the eton mess for a pudding which again was pretty good. May I add there was a wedding on at the same time which may have been the reason the food was limited. And the waitress who served was really good. All in all a little bit disappointed
