I booked this hotel for my in-laws for two nights. The nightly rate was way above I’d expect for this hotel or the area, but it’s that time of the year and my in-laws liked it the last time they stayed there so we made that extra effort to spend over $600 on a two night stay there so we could spend time together. Everything went well on the first night and as usual they complimented the hotel. It’s a fairly new building so we were all happy.
When we saw them after they checked out, they were very distressed because they woke up to a flooded bathroom. They called the reception and all they said is they acted surprised and didn’t do much to mitigate the problem. My in-laws had to leave the hotel with showering in the morning and the hotel didn’t offer them anything as a form of reparation.
I paid for the hotel ahead of time for them, so they could t even request for that night to be comped - although the hotel should have at least offer some sort of discount on their next staying.
It was very upsetting to know I paid so much and had to hear they did not receive proper service.
