鳥巢酒店(The Nest Hotel Palo Alto)

Multiple stays here. Wonderful place and clean rooms every time.

I appreciate the effort taken to convert what probably was a fly by night motel into an affordable hotel in Palo Alto, however the motel infrastructure still remained. The walls were thin, I could hear the person in the next room snoring. Of the eight USB plugs in the room only two worked. There was only one ceiling light fixture in the room outside of the bathroom, it was unnecessarily dark.

I didn’t realize that the room didn’t have a microwave or mini fridge when I booked. I also stashed away the coffee maker and its tray inside the unused closet in the corn because I needed a second side table. I hope the cleaning staff finds it because when I went to check out I was running late and did not have time to set things back to where they were when I checked in. For example, the tall lamp I moved and connected near the desk. The Apple TV did not work in room 116. Called and told the front in the morning about this and other stuff. Was able to plug in my Switch and enjoy Hulu on the TV. Simple room with basic amenities. It was wonderful, served its purpose. The breakfast on the weekend was not the best. I was expecting Cost Co baked goods at minimum, but there were pre packaged bagels. Thankfully, there is a Starbucks in walking distance. It’s a motel got what I paid for. I didn’t enjoy being able to hear the people in other rooms. I did get asked if I wanted an upstairs or downstairs room at check in. Allowed the staff at check in to chose. I assumed they would have chosen the better option of the two. The room given had broken stuff in it: the window’s curtain was ripped, some dings in the bathroom and again, the Apple TV wouldn’t allow me to connect my iPad to it. I usually bring cleaning supplies and room mists. I’m glad I did on this trip because the room smelled extra clean: like bleach. Weren’t staying in the room all day so it was fine.

The room we were assigned did not have an appropriate set up for a disabled person - although we were told that this room did. For example, there was no way a person in a wheelchair could access the shower. Also, whoever cleaned our room did not do a very thorough job of it. i.e, there was still toothpaste marks in the sink....
