Great hotel in a great setting. The property is so beautiful. The staff was welcoming and caring. The food at the restaurant on site was also amazing! We had dinner and breakfast there. The kids loved climbing up to their beds in the loft. All the rooms were clean and comfortable. This was our favourite hotel while on a trip to Peru.
This is a peaceful hotel in Urubamba in the Sacred Valley, about 10-15 minute walk into the town, restaurants and shops. It’s a beautiful setting, surrounded by mountains and with pretty gardens. The reception staff are very helpful. For what is described as a four star hotel, the rooms felt a little small, dark and sparse, but maybe that’s the point of an ex Monastery. We felt they could have provided more outside seating in the gardens to take advantage of the setting.
This was a great hotel for our vacation! First off, the staff was very accommodating and very nice to us. We had a problem with our hot water the first night and the staff jumped on the issue and put us in another room and insured we had hot water. It was a little cold that night and they hooked us up with an extra space heater that kept our room toasty the whole stay. The food in the restaurant was really fresh and the steak was made perfectly. We were all very impressed with the food!! The free breakfast was also delicious and they even made my eggs to order! The most impressive “above and beyond” moment, though, was when we were leaving. While packing our rental car we noticed a tire was flat. Luckily the car came with a spare but the flat tire was stuck on the car. We were going to have to wait hours to get help. The hotel staff brought over a hotel maintenance worker who was able to free the tire and put our spare on for us. It truly saved losing a whole day of vacation and I was so grateful. This above and beyond service is what you hope for in a vacation and they delivered. Thank you so much for the hospitality!
We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the grounds. Gregory and Ephraim were great hosts and provided excellent service in the restaurants throughout our stay. It’s a beautiful hotel in a beautiful valley. We can’t wait to come back for another visit in the future. Maybe over Christmas again.
Thanks, El Albergue, for a hospitable intro to Ollantaytambo! Fantastic in-site amenities— sauna, coffee roaster, distillery, gardens. Easy access to train station, archaeological sites, Plaza de Armas. Superior breakfast buffet, menu, staff (*thanks, receptionist Marianne, barista/bartender Christian, & server Liz). Comfy beds, quiet rooms, quick laundry service, quality souvenirs/gifts! Will recommend to one and all!
We were staying 2 nights in Machu Picchu so wanted a central based hotel - this was spot on right in the middle of the bustling town. 10 min walk from the train station and 5 min walk to the bus for Machu Picchu citadel. The hotel rooms were clean and tidy - very environmentally friendly. Great bar and eating areas - reception area very welcoming. You can leave your bags in their storage, if you check out and have a later train. The bar also has happy hour (so do most places!) You step out of the front door into one of the main streets, less than 5 min walk to the square. Can’t fault this Hotel - perfect location for a stay in Machu Picchu.
訪訪客Bed was really comfortable. Johan and Marie were so accommodating. We arrived in the evening after a long day of trekking and they got us to our rooms very quickly and understanding of how tired we were. The water was so loud being by the river at the end of rainy season that we were lulled to sleep both nights. All-natural sound machine. Hotel is close to everything. Rooms were clean and decorated uniquely. Breakfast in the morning was great, on top of the buffet Marie also scrambled eggs for anyone who requested. We had a great stay.
