Stay was just so-so. I was changed extra ‘taxes’ by the hotel that were not indicated by my original reservation confirmation and itinerary. I was not informed by the desk staff that I would be charged this fee, either at check in or check out. The fee was not charged until several days after I had checked out. The TV was difficult to use, and would not work for webcast from my phone or laptop. The max volume was too quiet to be able to be heard from the bed. 2/4

I truly can’t recall the last time I had such a terrible experience at a hotel. Let’s start with the positive - the location is close to campus and the front desk staff was courteous. We’d originally booked a king suite (king bed plus 1 queen), which was perfect for us, as we were touring the uni with our teen. Upon arrival, we were cheerily told we were “upgraded” to a 3 queen suite, which really wasn’t our preference anyway, but whatever - we get that room preferences aren’t guarantees. It was on the 3rd floor. Of note, there’s a bar/lounge on the 4th floor and it literally felt and sounded like someone was going to come through the ceiling all night. We knew the bar was closing at midnight and didn’t want to be difficult, so we waited it out and turned on the white noise machine we travel with - which wasn’t enough. At 12:30, I called to the front desk and shared that the noise was unreasonable now and asked if something could be done. The front desk receptionist said he looked on the cameras and didn’t see anything, but would to up and see if he could find the noise. This continued at least for another hour, when I fell asleep either because it stopped or because my exhaustion kicked in. In reading other reviews, this is a KNOWN and CONTINUAL problem with this hotel that hasn’t been addressed. Super disappointing. Some “upgrade” we received - an upgrade in frustration and a downgrade in sleep.

This is the best hotel to stay at in Stillwater especially if you have children. The hotel was recently renovated and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The lobby is beautiful and the dining area is large enough to accommodate a lot of guests during the complimentary breakfast hours. The 4th floor bar is an awesome addition to this hotel. The swimming pool is perfect for small children, not too deep. All of the staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at!

I booked my room through ********** for the guaranteed low rate. I overlooked other hotels in the same area that were close to the same price with more amenities, but chose this one because it was a couple dollars cheaper than all the rest. When we arrived we were informed they had a rate increase AFTER I had booked my room and that I would need to pay the difference or I wouldn't have a place to stay. I feel this is completely unprofessional to spring extra fees on the customer when they are checking in. It was a busy college weekend and at that point all the hotels were pretty booked. It was later in the evening when we got to the hotel so I was just ready to get to our room after a busy day on campus and didn't want to argue. But I feel it was very shady of Best Western to add extra fees to the customer. I'm sure ********** isn't aware they are doing this. We had also forgotten to pack our shampoo and body wash and there weren't any provided so my husband went down to request some but they said they didn't have any. We also couldn't get the room to cool down below 75 which was frustrating since we had been walking the college campus all day with our son and it was 106. The next morning for breakfast, we were also disappointed because they didn't have any flavored creamer. That's a very minor thing but this is the first hotel in Oklahoma I've stayed in that didn't have flavored creamer. We will definitely steer clear of the Best Western brand going forward.

I want to take the bed home with me. I slept so good I didn’t want to get up. Everything was clean, the people were professional but also very friendly. I accidentally left my purse in the breakfast area and when I came back the staff had it safe and sound for me. I will definitely come back to this Best Western again.
