灌木酒店(The Shrubbery Hotel)

A very nice welcome and a pleasant and clean room in the centre of the town for our overnight stay. Had a great evening meal and also an excellent choice for breakfast. Staff were most obliging and informative. Easy free parking. Would recommend a visit.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good location. Nice evening meal. But room I had really needs updating. Old fashioned blind broken so did not close properly (need decent black out blinds ideally) and mattress bit lumpy! Impossible to read by v faint Bedside light! Bathroom carpet needs changing to non carpet - was torn. Wallpaper and paint peeling off. Shower was a mere dribble that you had to take off wall to use. Such a shame as for £100 a night was expecting better comfort. Breakfast basic but good (coffee a bit cold!). Maybe a more updated/healthier cereals option? But staff were v lovely. If room had been nicer I would've given 5 out of 5.

This hotel was dismal in many ways and needs an upgrade, but the main problem was the dreadful over bath shower experience. We had to stand right next to the taps to get a trickle of water out of the handheld shower which ran straight off the old taps. I have given a score of 2 because the breakfast was reasonable given that it was included in the price. I feel that £120 for one night was excessive, I hate to see hotels taking advantage of busy periods when accommodation is scarce when they cannot deliver a good quality experience.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food was lovely and Deb cooked us a meal even though in it was her night off. We decided to stay an extra night as we enjoyed our stay so much, will definitely stay again next time we are in the UK (we were on holiday from Australia)

Was looking for somewhere for breakfast & was recommended the Shrubbery & wow we was not disappointed, lovely staff & a lovely breakfast with fresh beautiful food, the eggs were the pick of the day for me & a good price too, will highly recommend the Shrubbery.

New owners still a great hotel. This is our go to hotel as a base we were gutted it closed…but now reopened although we were not a lover of where the reception was as took some original features away and menu needs work I know with tweaks we will still come back

We enjoyed a really perfect Sunday roast. Excellent service. One of the best roast dinners we have had(reasonably priced as well) in a very long time! Give the shrubbery a try, you won't be disappointed.

My travel writer has arrived!! Not a good review so far. Room has mould, no curtains, and is really not worth the money spent. Interesting to see what the results are after a night stay!!! Dated, shabby and could get a better room at a Travelodge or premier inn

Just had Sunday lunch at the Shrubbery Hotel Shepton Mallet. Fresh, tasty roast, with all the trimmings. Crunchy roasters, meat cooked to perfection. Incredible value for money, in fact large portions to accommodate the bigger appetite. Tasty pudding for after,did not disappoint! All this, with super accommodating and friendly staff, clean, comfortable surroundings, in a beutiful Victorian building with original features. Whilst you eat, you can gaze out of the large bay windows, into the pretty walled garden. Relaxed, homey feel and made to feel welcomed by all! Thoroughly recommend.
