卡爾德拉灣(Caldera Bay)

Travelling as a family with two kids. We arrived the hotel quite late (after 22:00) and find out that two beds (kids beds) was missing blankets, bed linen, and towels. Eventually hotel managed to fix the situation next day's evening (after we mentioned the situation three times to the reception), so really poor start and commi**ent from the hotel. Hotel location is excellent, and breakfast was decent. Room was definitely outdated and would need renovation in kitchen, bathroom etc. Good thing was, it didn't had strange smells and AC worked as supposed to be. So overall it was ok for sleeping (which was enough for us) but not much else. During the checkout date, we paid for late checkout and received another room for the day. That room had a more decent overall look + bathroom but it definitely had quite strong mould smell inside the room. Overall, I'm quite sure there's better accommodation options which provide more value and quality to your stay in Platanias.

We arrived Wednesday 4th. The transfer drops you off at the roadside, so you have to walk 5 minutes down the road to the hotel. From the first impressions it looks really nice and clean. Lady at the reception was very nice and polite. Remember you have to pay tourist pay which is €1.50 per room. The resort is very big. At the front is the breakfast area, front pool and beach view bar above. In the middle is a small entertainment area, located after is an outdoor bar with a kids pool and a 2nd swimming pool for the back apar**ents. Breakfast is self service, the hot breakfast was luke warm. But you had the choice of bread, pastries and breakfast cereals. We stayed in 606, top floor. We found there to be only steps up. No lifts. We had a decent size room with a small kitchette. This had a kettle, coffee machine and a hob. No oven. The only thing I'd change about this hotel is to update the furniture within the rooms to something more modern and updated. You have free WiFi in this hotel which works very well and works in all areas. This hotel is located in a fantastic place. I'd certainly stay here again.

Really pretty aesthetic with one of the two pools right by the sea, super friendly staff, very well located. Numerous restaurants, bars and shops within a very short walk. Relaxed feel to hotel. Sunbeds by two pools and on the beach as well so there are plenty to go round. Pool bar has good range of meals and drinks and there's another nice restaurant literally next door to that one. 5 minute walk to the bus stop for a bus to Chania which costs sub 2 euros and most of the day they go every 20 mins or so and take about 20 mins, or it's an 18 euro taxi (taxi stand also within 3 mins walk or so). Spacious rooms, good AC, not much to the kitchenette, I don't think you could really self cater, but there are the basics - fridge, hob, kettle, coffee maker and some very basic equipment. Fortunately eating out is not too expensive in Crete.

We enjoyed the unsurpassed courtesy and kindness of all the staff. Also, when we had two little problems, they solved them immediately. We appreciated the cleanliness, the organisation, the quiet and peaceful environment, the proximity of many restaurants, where we have always eaten very well. Both beach and pool are pleasant. An experience to be repeated!

Very good hotel, basic room, clean with a lovely balcony and sea view. Provided with aircon, safe, kitchenette and decent bed. The breakfast was excellent and so were the cocktails! Two nice pools and sun loungers provided free on the beach. There wasn’t any evening entertainment but plenty of bars and restaurants nearby . Chania old town is definitely worth a visit. Overall the hotel was very relaxing, not luxurious but value for money.

The location was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We spend here one week in May. The hotel is little bit worn out, especially the rooms. We had originally booked a studio, but after we see the room we decided to upgrade it to little bit better. The studio was therrible, dark little room with disgusting bathroom and staines in the mattres. The upgraded room was little bit better and we had a sea view. The beach could be cleaned time to time, now there is lot of rubbish in the sand. Also every morning they start to prepare the breakfast at 5 AM and the noise from this to the rooms is loud. They roll some kind of carts down the hotel corridors, so the rumble wakes you up every morning. The staff was really friendly, cleaning was really good and the hotel location is excellent. These are the plus sides. But I wouldnt stay here again.

Arrived last night after a flight delay. So nice to be greeted by a very welcoming and cheerful guy at the hotel at this hour. “You have a very nice room with a private pool!” he said. Yeah, I know, I booked it, I thought…But WOW! Top floor and a private pool with a view! I love the greeks❤️
